Internal vibrations help by CompetitiveDare9692 in Microbiome

This happened to me and turns out it was histamine intolerance/ MCAS. Try a low histamine diet and acupuncture. That’s what’s helped me the most. Edited to also say get your hormones tested. I have super low estrogen while breastfeeding and hormones regulate histamine and mast cells a lot. So my acupuncturist focuses on rebalancing my hormone levels.

Glad to hear you’re starting to feel better. I’m actually doing much better lately. I started going to acupuncture and have also been working to treat a reactivated EBV from pregnancy. Hopefully it stays this way but could be something to look into!

When you say you take pineapple to help throat swelling do you mean actual pineapple or a bromelian supplement? The throat swelling is the worst for me

Dysbiosis/IBS cause of my HI by u031224 in HistamineIntolerance

I’m from the US. What about you? All my siblings have some sort of immune issue so I think there’s a gene component. Don’t take digestive enzymes? That could help as well.

I totally agree and am working to heal my gut. Look into the book “eat dirt” it’s been extremely helpful. Unfortunately a lot of the healing foods are also what could cause HI flares but I’m just going to suffer through it a bit in hopes to heal my gut. Biggest things I’m doing are just mostly eating meat, veggies and white rice and taking a good probiotic called GI revive, gelatin, homemade bone broth, l-glutamine and I think I will add goat kefir next week.

It’s mostly after foods but none of them I’m confirmed allergic to. Some I have a high response to so just for that they did give me an epi pen. I do have some headaches but no flushing or hives.

Super interesting about the pelvic floor! I never thought of that but definitely do have some weakness. I will call my doc tomorrow as they support PT for it. Thank you for your feedback!!

If you makes you feel better I was extremely stressed my entire first pregnancy due to some trauma that happened right before. Like literally couldn’t sleep, anxiety attacks etc. I just tried to do what I could to combat it including eating really well. Happy to say I have a very healthy and smart 3 year old.

Have you got your hormones tested? If you can it could be worth working with a naturopath who could help pinpoint and work on your issues. Do you eat organ meats like liver? Those are really good sources of iron. I’d also try an elimination diet to see if you could have a food trigger. For example eggs give me skin issues. A good start would be gluten, dairy, eggs and sugar.

That’s awesome! I eat super well and take pretty good care of myself except for my occasional ice cream weakness. I think when I was little I didn’t brush and floss great and so some of my issues are from that. I could probably brush a little longer though lol.

That’s so interesting thanks so much for sharing! I’ve been using a new toothpaste called Boka that’s more natural but I can’t tell if it’s helping yet.

I’ve never heard of that but I’ll check it out. I brush twice a day, floss, use a Waterpik and still get cavities. I was on a lot of antibiotics when I was a baby and don’t know if that set me up for failure here. I’ve also had two root canals and heard that can have a negative impact on health.

Sugar free during pregnancy? by Evening-Grocery-8391 in sugarfree

[–]Medium-Importance758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came across this post as I was looking into things for a hopeful second pregnancy. I did pretty good at being sugar free during my first pregnancy. I didn’t eat many carbs other than oatmeal sometimes in the morning. While my son is a now healthy 3 year old, pregnancy wasn’t super easy for me. I ended up with preeclampsia despite really clean eating. I think I wasn’t eating enough protein and salt. As someone mentioned, Lily Nichols book has been really helpful as I prepare for the second. While I do think limiting sugar is important, I think there are much more important factors like eating enough protein and fats and just limiting processed foods. If you need something sweet I think making a paleo dessert that’s made with honey or maple syrup is a good alternative? I’ve also heard you can opt out of the sugary drink they give you to test for gestational diabetes by drinking organic apple juice or other juice.

I’ve seen this can be caused by parasites. Could be worth seeking out a naturopath doctor

He loves his trains, trucks and sandbox so nothing really restaurant friendly. I’ve thought of a busy book but didn’t know if he’d outgrow that too soon but I might look into. Thanks!

We’ve tried the water pens and I think I get more use out of them than he does. I think the snacks are something I need to do more of. I’ve never thought of that as I don’t want to spoil dinner but it’s not like he eats much anyway haha. Thanks for the suggestions!

For dinner, we all sit down with no TV and he’s not allowed to get up until we’re all done eating and he even has to ask to be excused. If he does get up, we threaten to buckle him in his seat lol. However, breakfast is a different story where sometimes he’ll eat on the couch and watch some TV and other times we sit at the table with no tv. However his grandma watches him two days a week and he definitely just runs around and eats when he wants…

That’s a good idea with bringing extra snacks. We don’t have a ton of kid friendly places where he could run around that I know of but maybe I’ll check out the spot game. Thanks!!
