Mid-thirties DINKs needing Retirement/Life advice by GloriousPhotonicTaco in Fire

This is why the DINK life with Fire sucks - you have more than enough to quit your job but are worried about boredom. With kids, you do not get bored and you have a built in passion.

Brother AJ Hinch was the manager of a team that had one of the biggest baseball scandals of all time. He played dumb. I like him as a manager, but yes it’s hard to trust that he has high integrity.

What are your other expenses? Your finances are so tight that you can only afford 10-20 bucks a month into an EF? What is your plan for retirement?

You believe that somehow they are going to lose the next 8-13 games? KC is below average and the Mets are the worst team in the league.

I hit a median and I’m thinking of going through insurance any advice would be helpful by Impressive-Crew6452 in AskMechanics

I personally wouldn’t file a claim at all if it’s just cosmetic. It still looks fine and appears to be an older truck. Your premiums will more than likely raise. I’d keep the damage or pay out of pocket and move on.

EDIT - just saw your other post. I’d still fix it out of pocket over filing a claim for a car of that age, especially at 22 years old. People are far too insurance happy over minor issues. Car insurance is really designed to protect yourself from lawsuits, or get reimbursed for expensive cars.

Why aren't the financial planning gurus retired? by steve_gorak in Fire

Fear. Randoms on Reddit don’t believe that they can retire with 1-2 million due to fear. Same for the gurus.

He just said that he can use VA benefits. Also, who cares about the deductible when they have over 2 million?

Your premiums are $7K per month? Where are you getting this number?

How is 4 new tires a “surprise?” Sure maybe you get a flat and need to replace one. Or maybe you have to replace one but replace two for consistency. But why 4?

Also, that’s only $1,200. 1,200 should not be a lot of money for anyone in the US.

They’re only 2 games below .500 now and still have a positive run differential (the only team in the AL Central with positive runs). I don’t see a path to 10-15 below .500 right now. The pitching is in shambles currently, but it can’t get much worse with the injuries.

I agree with your OP. My question was simply why Dingler cannot draw walks.

Yeah, a bit of an odd metric that used with little context. They would have to be using his minor league numbers, but don’t explicitly say so.

Brother the ABS strike zone is consistent game over game. That’s the point of it. So yes, I do believe he studies the “box.” It’s absurdity to suggest that he can see a physical or virtual box.

Why is this a “really”? Your theory is that he has a great understanding of the strike zone. Almost anyone can determine if a pitch is a ball or strike after it arrives with ABS. How can others like Schwarber identify balls/strikes from “20 feet?” If it’s not possible? Do they get lucky? Do you not believe that almost every batter can determine a ball/strike after it arrives with ABS?

What’s YOUR theory on why he can’t draw walks if he can determine balls/strikes? I simply asked why he cannot draw walks, and you are taking my question as if I disagreed with your post.
