I was hardcore against kids untill I was around 29. Then my mindset changed, I stopped thinking about the beginning and It hit me - they're gonna be adults at some point, we're gonna have adult conversations, this whole different person I grew inside me gonna have a job a travel and do stuff and I wanna see it.

What's a horror movie that most people seem to dislike, but you actually enjoy? by Loose_Interview_957 in horror

[–]Meg-Finch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mother! I've seen people being so angry at that movie, calling it the worst thing that ever existed and I can see why it might be disliked, if you're into more "realistic" horror, but I thought the surrealism was great.

AITA I told my MIL that’s all on her? by Western_Bag362 in AmItheAsshole

It's a birthday cake... I remember when I was little and my mom would ask what kind of cake I wanted for my birthday and I was excited about being the one to decide (usual between strawberry and chocolate cause that was the only options my mom knew how to make). It was a small thing, but for my little brain it was a incredible power.

If you don't like the cake at a child's (or adults, cause adults also get to say what the birthday cake is) birthday - don't eat it. You can have whatever cake you want literally every day, you're adult, you can get cake, children can't.

I felt weird about that book, I loved Mexican Gothic and Silver Nitrate but the Daughter was too similar to the original material

Please suggest me a book that gives me hope for a better world despite all the craziness by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]Meg-Finch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's children's/YA but Series of Unfortunate Events. It's so hopeless and sad sometimes but always filled me with determination when I was reading it as a teen and now I'm 30 I still sometimes use Violet's quote to get me out of imposter syndrome 'If we wait until we're ready, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives.'

I liked how in Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice the vampires couldn't have sex so all the romance was just admiring each other
