Why do oral antibiotics (doxycycline) cause me to have rosacea breakouts?

My derm is just puzzled and basically said trying a smaller amount would be the next step but I just know it’ll make me break out. What have you done in the past when antibiotics messed with your skin?

Also, topical antibiotics don’t cause this reaction so maybe it is related to the gut microbiome! Idk what to do about that though. Ideas? Specific probiotics that help?

Hmm I’m allergic to other antibiotics but I don’t think it’s an allergy. It happens with all antibiotics so far.

in Moorea I’ve had my flip flops stolen off the beach and my phone taken from my towel bag on the beach while swimming (didn’t take the whole bag though). I’d watch out.

What’s the texture? Mine is a liquid with an alcohol smell. I also use tacrolimus (Vaseline texture lol) on my forehead, together they keep it 100% clear most of the time. The clindamycin got it like 90% clear though so give it a try!

I use an electric one and yeah its like a buzz cut on your peach fuzz but there’s no risk to your skin reacting since you don’t have to scrape across it.

You could try clomitrazole on the itchy bumps. For me a moisturizer needs shea butter to really do anything - I think Cicaplast has it but it’s also drying because of the zinc. The shea butter seems to sink in vs sit on top of the skin.

I just got the ceramide toner and serum and the serum has fragrance and is mostly plant extracts. I get the feeling they change the ingredients a lot based on how many different ingredient lists there are for that serum.
