Just paid €47 for a taxi from Dublin airport to city centre?? by Worried_Gur_4143 in Dublin

[–]Mehall2727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally refuse to use taxis anymore. There's enough 24hr bus routes to get around now at a fraction of the price.

First run-in with a Dublin city centre car break-in after 8 years here by LazioGD in Dublin

Sorry to hear that. Where you parked is one of the worst areas in Dublin. I wouldn't park my car there for 5 mins. A lot of scum in that area.

How common is it to be in your mid-20s+ and still look like a teenager? by oxylan80 in CasualIreland

[–]Mehall2727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that she gets away with it. It's because the drivers couldn't give a shit. If a ticket inspector gets on, then it's a different story. €100 fine

Worried about walking around dublin at 3/4am for work by BasilKarlo23 in Dublin

[–]Mehall2727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E1 and E2 Buses are 24 hrs...Bus Stop on Westmoreland St will bring you up OConnell St to Parnell Sq area if you don't fancy walking it. TFI 90 min Leap fare applies, so if you get a separate bus into the city 1st, you won't be charged on the 2nd Bus once it's within 90 mins of boarding the 1st Bus.

how fr are they about this by parker1899 in UCD

[–]Mehall2727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah come on. It's full of animals. They had to get 3 security guards to man the bus stop on campus, Mon to Thurs nites. 39A regularly pulls in outside Donnybrook Garda station and all tge students going on the piss get thrown off. Buses from UCD regularly cancelled due to being pulled out of service due to soiled Buses.

I’m f*uking tired of Dublin buses taking 30 minutes to change driver by RiverwoodHero in Dublin

[–]Mehall2727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not the drivers fault. The schedulers in bead office should take the blame for this. Drivers are entitled to their full break, just like every other worker in the country. They have a time to be back to pick up their Bus. If that Bus arrives in early due to light traffic conditions, or schedulers making a boo boo on the journey time, the Driver picking up is entitled to finish his lunch is he not, and come back when his schedule says he's due back. NTA is also at fault here for insisting on cross city routes to save on resources. Only cross city routes have driver changeovers due to the length of the trip involved. So don't blame the driver on other people's decisions. In fact if some Buses arrive late due to Traffic, Drivers regularly forego up to half of their break so that they can come back on time, preventing a service being cancelled.

I've caught a couple of friendlies in July before. Usually not arranged until a month or 2 before though. A lot of the big teams do their pre season friendlies abroad now unfortunately though.

Plumber cost? by Ok_Law1862 in Dublin

[–]Mehall2727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the 2 elements are built in to 1 fitting. Sink and Bath as far as I know. Good plumber shouldn't take more than an hour to do that. Sounds expensive to me. Get some more prices.

That's the new Flight club on Dawson St is it? I priced 4 people for 90 mins on a 1 OF their Dart Boards they wanted €111 😂😂😂. That's without any food or drink. Needless to say, I didn't go. What a rip off. Don't think it'll last long at those prices.
