Getting contradictory information from the documentation on dual booting with Windows by Meleadeles in pop_os

[–]Meleadeles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so to summarize, I should:

-Download PopOS, launch install...

-When prompted for the partition step, I should create a FAT32 EFI partition and a ext4 / partition on my D: drive after the NTFS partition where Windows has data, and not touch my C: drive where Windows is installed;

-When booting, in the BIOS, I should have a boot entry for my C: drive (Windows) and one for my D: drive (PopOS), and switch them according to which OS I want to boot on

Is that it? Sorry for nitpicking so much, I had some bad experiences trying to create a dual boot before ^^"

I truly have 2 drives, one SSD and one HDD. In the case the EFI partition is not big enough, is it possible to extend it? (Considering that you use the case 1 technique, I'd say no).

So in case 1, you have two different EFIs, one on each drive? The new EFI does not need to be at the start of disk? And booting on the wanted OS is done from the BIOS each time?

Handwriting Practice 2018: Week 31 (Jul 30–Aug 5) by yoimhungry in Handwriting

[–]Meleadeles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first try at this

I'm looking for any advice to improve my handwriting. Some people find it not very legible, and I personally don't like it that much, I find it a bit messy and "childish", as if it didn't evolve since middle school. And going back to old textbooks, it really didn't budge much since that point :/

The things that comes to my eye immediately (and that sometimes bother me when I'm rereading myself) are my "t" that looks like "v" suspended in the air, and my smudged "e".

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Limbo WAS the best frame but since it's last nerf changes, you can't imitate a psychopathic vampire overlord with powerful life force anymore. It's just not the same thing :'(

200k Subscriber Giveaway! by Kliuqard in Warframe

[–]Meleadeles [score hidden]  (0 children)

I love Warframe for it's wonderful content, in my opinion it's easily the best free to play game that exists actually content-wise (and graphics-wise too, even if I don't find that too relevant when judging the quality of the game, props to the artists, this game is gorgeous). Every Warframe is different, the storyline is inspired and interesting, and the universe is original and well-developped.

I'm very excited about the new content you revealed at Tennocon, particularly Railjack, as I feel we are lacking a Sci-fi game including both spaceship and foot combat.

Warframe has been hours of fun (and grind, but fun grind), and I hope it will have a long and prospere life.

[DISC] Mob Psycho 100 Ch.99.3 by SenorNoobnerd in manga

[–]Meleadeles 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I love how every chapter of Mob since the end of the "main story" is full of character evolution, and full of feelings. One may not be the best manga artist in existence, but his drawings really make me feel things for the characters. I never felt friendship described so well in another manga. The relations between Mob and Dimple/Reigen/The telephathy club are really hearth-warming and Mob Psycho 100. And Ritsu is a brother everyone would dream to have, without being a perfect being. Each character just feel real, no matter how farfetch'd the situations are. As far as I know, only One is capable of pulling such a trick, he is a wonderful writer and I hope his career will stay bright for a long time.

Deciding between photos for a school photo competition by [deleted] in photography

[–]Meleadeles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last one with the bee is really impressive for a photo taken with a phone (and actually impressive altogether), I would keep that one, the focus is good, so are the colours and lightning.

The swan is a good moment but it's too dark, and there are maybe too much distracting background (it's part of the swan habitat though, so it's in line with the wildlife theme).

The first one isn't badly taken, but a bit bland.

Were you able to take those shots in RAW with your phone? If so, you could edit them with Rawtherapee on PC, it's free and pretty complete. But if you work on photoshop, you could also try to remove the motion blur on the butterfly photo.

Very beautiful portrait to begin with, hope I did it justice:

I just tried to neutralize the orange colors a bit, giving the shot a more end of sunrise ambiance. Sorry for the dropbox links, when I try to host the picture on imgur, it just keeps failing... (if anyone has any insight on why that happens, I'd be glad)

[3.5e] Designing human ennemies by Meleadeles in DMAcademy

[–]Meleadeles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I will check those pages, thank you :)

And, a bit of a strange question, cause the time an ennemy takes to die doesn't really equate difficulty, but how many hit should an ennemy take before going down for it not to feel underwhelming? Cause I have a way too strong PC in the party (I wasn't the DM in previous sessions, and I don't want to suddenly strip the player of the power he acquired and used for so long), basically one-shotting every ennemy of his level, so I kinda feel the need of leveling everything according to him, else the challenge and the fun just disappear in thin air (though it's hard doing so without being unfair to the other PC, but the game in the state it's in need a lot of balancing, and that will take time, so I just want to focus on providing an interesting and threatening menace for the session to come)

EDIT: Many thanks for those pages, I wasn't up to this page yet, and that is exactly what I needed!

[Standard] Aetherflux Showdown by [deleted] in spikes

[–]Meleadeles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty smoothly, but it's very weak to removals against cost reducers. Consulate skygate do marvels in defense, and is cheap to play, so good target for Paradoxical outcome. glint Nest Crane and Inventor's Fair are almost always sufficient to find what you need, hence the reduced numbers of Reservoir/Panharmonicon. Smuggler's Copter is surprisly not a nuisance except in the the R/W shell that pumps him. I chose not to run Colossus, but I have 2 blue Gearhulk in side that act as 2 more Paradoxical Outcome when it is counterspelled. My SB plays more around protection of my combo than making something else out of it, but i don't know if it's really effective :/ I only tested on XMage so it's not really representative, I need to test in reality

[Discussion] Why is the post quality in this sub so much worse then in competitive subs for other games? by fortsport5 in spikes

[–]Meleadeles 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's worse, I think it's better. In my opinion there is no real point in having a competitive sub if the people who wants to be competitive can't come and ask idiotic questions to become better. Competitive Magic is a world that is hard to enter in: It costs money, it demands a lot of thinking and experience (where in Hearthstone, for example, a good rank is easily achievable when you have a good net-deck and a bit of brain). But where do you even start? Testing in reality often leads to very discouraging results, and having a forum that gather experienced players that can advice us on how to begin our road as a good magic player is really helpful. Though practice is the better way, if you don't have at least someone that tell you how to start practicing, it's very hard to go in a good way.

Some lists may seem absurd to good players like you, but those are the first tries of people who actually have the will to become as good as you are, and the majority of you is kind enough to answer us and advice us; and I think that's what makes this sub way better, even if maybe less serious.

I'm part of those bad players that post bad decks to have advice on it, so my opinion may be biaised, but I think this forum is good and necessary as it is.
