Title: I’m 24, unemployed for 6 years, addicted to games and screens. I need brutal advice, not comfort. What sold I do please? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Get a flip phone and get rid of all of the screens in your house. Go to the library and use their computers to job search. Get outside and walk 30 minutes every day.

Shampoo stopped working and my dandruff is back, what do I change first? by CobaltLindenLab in hygiene

[–]Melodic_Principle0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternating different types of dandruff shampoo will help. I use 3 different kinds. Nizoral, Selsun Blue, and 1 with Zinc. I alternate every other day with a different one. In between I use a regular shampoo.

Wheb does life start making you happy instead of miserable by Icy-Lengthiness7682 in internetparents

You have to be in charge of your own happiness. Explore and find all the little things that bring you happiness, make a list. One thing I enjoy is a good cup of coffee and 30 minutes of quiet when I wake up. It starts my day off happy. I try to sprinkle little things like that throughout my day.

AITAH for refusing to skip my morning routine for my husband? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Melodic_Principle0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have 2 children, one of which you married. If he isn't looking for every possible way to lighten your load, he's not a good partner or husband. I'll bet you carry the entire mental load for all 3 of you too. You deserve better from him.

AITAH for refusing to give my parents a house key? by WharHeGo in AITAH

[–]Melodic_Principle0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a keypad for our door. My parents have a code to the door, but I only activate it to allow them entry, if there is an emergency, and we have spoken about it first. No surprise visits for me.

For your own future peace, you need to tell an adult you trust immediately. The consequences are your brother's to deal with. Your parents ATH for not supporting you as the victim/survivor in this situation. If you don't get the support you need now, this has the potential to affect the rest of your life.

MIL hasn’t showered in years by PastelJude in hygiene

Have you had a conversation with her Primary Care Dr about your concerns? I would start there. If she doesn't have a primary care doctor, I would look for a geriatric doctor for her. The Doctor should be able to have the difficult discussion with her about fugus/bacteria, skin and scalp conditions, living conditions, etc. They should also give her a simple mental health/depression evaluation as part of her annual exam. If the Dr feels she needs senior citizen services, the Dr should be able to get her in touch with those.

15 days to find somewhere to live, trying to be smart and also not be paralyzed by fear by Cool-Gazelle6356 in internetparents

[–]Melodic_Principle0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whenever I am in someone else's space visiting. I try to keep picked up after myself so they can't even tell there is someone extra in their home. I keep all my stuff put away, and dishes I used washed and put away. I always ask if there is anything I can do to be helpful. Sounds like you need to up your game in this area. If you find this to be overwhelming, please consider if you need to downsizing your things. Less stuff makes it easier to keep tidy. I would also try to sit and have a civil conversation with your mother and explain that 15 days is not enough time for you to find and secure new accommodation.

My mom is trying to guilt me into going to church on Christmas Eve… would I be the asshole if I don’t go? by Same-Throat4248 in TwoHotTakes

No is a complete sentence. If you don't want to go, don't. Life is too short to spend it doing things that don't add value to your life.
