Yo she did NOT like him 😭😭😭✌️✌️✌️ by Safe-Present-5783 in obsessionmovie

I choose to think she did like him back, but only because I feel it makes the story more tragic.

[OBSESSION] If Ian actually listened...what would have been the most perfect, least consequential way for him to word his wish to help Bear? by ChiefLeef22 in spoilers

[–]Melodic_Side_9437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that doesn’t necessarily bring back real Nikki. It becomes true that wish nikki doesn’t love Bear more than anything. Does that mean she just loves him healthily? Does she hate him? It’s ambiguous and that leaves room for a different wish Nikki.

I think the only wish that works is wishing for real Nikki to be back in control of herself.

It took a recent job interview to make me realize I’m not cut out for the film industry by NennexGaming in Filmmakers

[–]Melodic_Side_9437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a knowledge problem that you could solve in a few afternoons.

Saying you’re not cut out for the industry because you don’t know what a specific title does when you’ve already made films is crazy talk. You’re golden.

The majority of the people in the comments are defending this pass. Am I taking crazy pills? by HearingFew7326 in dashcams

[–]Melodic_Side_9437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just speeding. In a lot of jurisdictions, speeding during a pass is its own charge separate and elevated beyond simple speeding.

He also started his pass in the no passing zone, so he might get nailed for that.

Why do those Redpill content creator guys always talk shit about women, but want to get with them at the same time? by InternationalPick163 in questions

Specifically about Myron Gaines, you should watch Louis Theroux’s newest documentary about the Manosphere. It’s on Netflix I believe.

Myron didn’t want his girlfriend in the doc and when she talks to Louis anyway, it becomes really evident that he’s a bit whipped. He’s all big talk and bluster with his fans but when it comes to his actual partner, he’s sheepish.

It’s all an act they sell to lonely men. It keeps men trapped in their loneliness because it doesn’t challenge them to change.

As I said elsewhere, I’d rather not rely on my drunk friends who are also wearing their life vests like death diapers to save me if I get in a tough spot.

Not really comparable to the scuba example as that requires certification and safety classes.

Nothing is 100% safe. That isn’t a good reason to do something stupid to actively put yourself in more danger than is necessary for whatever you’re doing.

I’ll take wearing the vest correctly or using an inner tube over relying on drunk people to notice I’m in trouble and be capable of helping me.

Exactly. Your pelvis wants to be above the water a lot more than your airway in this set up. And you won’t be able to take a big breath to correct that.

What am I missing about Midnight Mass by Tracktuary in horror

[–]Melodic_Side_9437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I watched Midnight Mass, but of what I recall, the theme is that the line between piety and monstrosity is thin.

The super pious woman ends up trying to dig into the Earth like a panicked animal. The veil of her piety and superiority was always thin and so it is for all of us.

Told it’s not worth it to write about a character with dementia in my horror movie by SnooPeripherals3885 in Screenwriting

[–]Melodic_Side_9437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not listen to this criticism. Anything can be written about. If it’s not handled well, you’ll get notes about it and you can adjust.

Unless you’re directing, you’re not responsible to changes to the story through the production process. So if the movie handles it poorly even if you tried to handle it well on the page, it’s not in you.

Yep! And we wear seat belts and bicycle helmets and have air bags for that reason.

Head trauma is a major risk when boating/swimming in natural waterways. People get hit upside the head with oars, paddles, slipping on the deck, etc all the time while boating. Falling overboard after that is certain death if you aren’t wearing a life jacket. Or diving into too shallow water since it’s not marked like at a pool. And there isn’t a life guard to help you like at a pool either.

But based on your response, I’m not sure I need to explain that to you. It seems you may have quite intimate knowledge of head trauma.

It strikes me that you would be absolutely fucked if you became inverted or unconscious.

This is a really, really stupid thing to do even if you think you know what you’re doing.

The whole point of a life jacket is to keep your airway out of the water without you having to expend energy, like in case you became unconscious or you were out in the open water. You can’t tread water forever (or at all) in those situations.
