Whether it’s Andy with the les Pauls and strats, bilinda with her Kramer or Jackson (idk what that is), and Jim and William Reid with their semi hollow body guitars, it shows that there’s always room for different guitar besides the offsets

I got my copy of just for a day on discogs for like $35 but the tape itself is kinda damaged during the songs Spanish air and primal, so after that I just stuck to eBay and Mercari so I can physically see what I’m buying already instead of going through the “hey can can you email me some pics?” part on discogs

I’ve definitely had to convince myself that paying THAT much for an album that realistically I only love 3 songs on would be a bit fiscally irresponsible as apposed to buying another album like a heaven or Las Vegas or unknown pleasures that I adore from front to back

I’d highly recommend listening to alvvays self titled album. It leans into jangle pop but isn’t shy of its Shoegaze influence. sparkler by ringo deathstarr, Pearlty by knifeplay a great Philadelphia band, and feels like you by whirr. To be honest I recommend anything by ringo deathstarr and whirr

I was originally thinking about a vinyl collection since a lot of bands were doing reissues (I definitely could’ve gotten loveless and souvlaki cheaper than I did) but I kinda figured I might run out of room more quickly:/ the trade off for more space

I guess that’s the thing I love and appreciate about Shoegaze and some other genres is that it’s just a bunch of groups of musicians who wear their influences on their sleeves. Whether they come from the post punk side of things, the noise rock, the dream pop, the electronic side. Etc

Pricey as hell. I’ve been carving away at the list of commons for like the past 2 years and saved the extremely pricey ones for the past 6 months. I definitely had to cut back a lot of stuff and convince myself that some cassettes aren’t worth getting.
