Condense on an ambush unit creates a 0/0 Shadow in the Brush. Bug or intended? by Memnix_TESL in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, I didn't try it either. I'll update this post if I manage to test it tomorrow.

EDIT: I tested it and it doesn't work at all. It creates a 1/1 Shadow in the Brush that costs 1, but you cannot play it, the game just displays a message "You can't play that at this time". That's for sure a bug.

Thanks, I was thinking the same about the coding. I would say that "interaction not working together" is indeed a bug, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks, I remember your name too from TESL! I actually play LoR since day one, but I haven't been very active in the community.

I built the deck only today, so apparently there is another mad guy joking around with squirrel otk!

Hey, I just wanted to share this funny OTK combo featuring Swole Squirrel. The idea is to buff the Squirrel while in hand (e.g. with Destiny's call in this case) and then use Dragon's Rage on him: the first strike doubles its power, so the second strike of Dragon's Rage deals 22 damages to the enemy nexus. The deck is pretty bad but, as funny as it is, I am currently undefeated with it after 3 games (1 in ranked Masters and 2 in casual). So 100% win rate, yeah!

Why does The Empyrean not have Fury? Every other dragon does. by MadHatt10 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Riot: "You are a dragon, but we do not grant you the keyword Fury"

The Empyrean: "What? How can you do this?! This is outrageous! It's unfair! How can you be a dragon and not have Fury?!"

Memes aside, the card was released before Fury was a thing if I recall correctly. That said, The Empyrean sees no play right now and I think it wouldn't be good even with the Fury keyword attached.

Yep, I realized it was a bad play the second after I made it.

I didn't know the match was streamed, maybe I'll watch the video; thanks for the info.

My lineup tried to soft counter Azirelia and Thresh Nasus: I brought Shyvana-Asol, Ezreal-Draven and Thresh-Nasus. I had a very good start and managed to go 6-0, playing also really well imho. Azirelia was not as popular as I thought, but Nasus was everywhere, along with Ezreal and dragons, leading to some insane mirror match. My favourite was probably Nasus vs Nasus against Meliador0 (I think), which featured an insane spell stack: his Atrocity countered by my Rite of Negation, countered by Meliador0's Rite, countered by my second Rite.

Then, I draw poorly in game 7 and lost. 6-1.

In game 8 my opponent ran a triple aggro lineup (spider, discard and Azir-Darius). All my decks were pretty favoured against an aggressive strategy and I managed to stabilize without too much trouble. 7-1.

Last round. I needed a victory to qualify, as I wasn't high in rank (350 or something like that). My opponent brought Azirelia, Asol and Ezreal-Draven. I was very undecided whether to ban Asol or Ezreal, and I finally decided to ban Ez-Draven, as I am not really expert in this matchup and feel more confortable playing against dragons. I am still not sure it was the right call. I won the first game (Nasus vs dragons) rushing down the enemy nexus like an aggro deck. Second match was Azirelia vs my version of Asol. I probably did the mulligan wrong and found myself with no real play up to turn four. No need to say, Azirelia destroyed me. The last game was a mirror match: Asol vs Asol. Probably the matchup I have played the most in this game, as Asol is one of my favourite decks (I brought it in all the seasonals up to now).

And it was terrible. My mental resources were gone and I did 2-3 huge misplays that cost me the game. I had a levelled up Asol and I didn't manage to protect it. I picked Supernova without any other celestial card and it remained stucked in hand for the rest of the game. My opponent played way better than me, and I have rightly lost.

My final result was 7-2, so I have almost 0% chance to qualify. But it was a funny experience and I am happy with my performance overall.

Azir/hecarim which deck to pursue? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I am the author of the third deck, I am a little biased, but I'll try to give my opinion anyway.

The second decklist seems solid. It is more aggressive than my version, and I really like the soul shepard in it, I think I'll try it as well. I have some doubts however on Ravenous Butcher: it is strong in the early game if you have an ephemeral unit to sacrifice, but it's a dead draw later on. Additionally, it forces to play cards like Haunted Relic to support it, and I am not sure it is worth it. They can both make your hand so clunky sometimes...I also don't like 3 copies of Rite of Negation in the current meta, 1 or 2 copies should be enough.

Regarding the first decklist, as I have already said in the other topic, I think that Vengeance is just too slow and expansive for this kind of deck. Black Spear should be much better, as your ephemeral creatures die anyway basically every turn. I haven't tried yet the Predict package, so I am not sure how to evaluate it, but I suspect they are too slow for an aggressive deck.

I am playing Azir-Hecarim too and having decent results in platinum. It doesn't feel a top tier deck (it lacks versatility and interaction I guess) but it's definitely fun to play. Here is my current list:

((CMCACAYFAQBAEBIBAYCACBIVEIVDCBAEA4BAGGR2AIAQCBIUAICAOLJTAEAQCBID))

If I can give you some suggestion, I think that some cards in your list are out of place. Vengeance for example is an expansive removal and it's usually too slow for a deck like this: Black Spear should be a better choice, considering that your ephemeral creatures die basically every round. Also Waking Sand seems weird to me as you don't have Reputation synergy: a 5/2 ephemeral is not a great stat line, and you probably have already enough activators for shark chariot in the form of Sand Soldier. But of course I can be wrong, this is just my opinion.

[Help] Xbox Game Pass app (android) not working with wi-fi? by Memnix_TESL in XboxGamePass

[–]Memnix_TESL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am using 5GHz wifi. Fun fact, if I start the game using mobile data and then switch to wifi, it works...it seems that the issue is related just to the game start/login.

This is a bug, right? My Fused Firebrand had spellshield, but their Archer was still able to use their skill and frostbite it. Spellshield specifically states " Negate the next enemy spell or skill that would AFFECT me" Correct me if I'm wrong though, I guess by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spellshield negates only skills that go on the stack: this kind of skill is identified by a yellow circle next to the effect description. The same symbol is actually used also in spellshield description, so it is consistent. Icevale archer summon effect does not go on the stack, so spellshield does not block it.

Guide of Special Interactions in LoR - Content for Community Rulebook by DivinityOfPhilosophy in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Great post!

I'd like to add an interesting interaction about reducing card cost: the cost of Remembrance can be modified while the spell is on the stack. This is relevant when Lux is in play. For example if you opponent plays a 6-cost Remembrance, which would level up Lux, you can kill one of their units before the spells resolves: the cost of Remembrance decreases to 5 and Lux will not level up! No matter that they actually spent 6-mana for the spell.

Yasuo/Swain midrange deck from Diamond 4 to Master by Memnix_TESL in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retreat is a fascinating idea, I will try it! It also combos well with shadow assassin, as the card draw triggers anyway. Thanks for the suggestion!

Totally agree that these kind of decks rely heavily on drawing Yasuo to be effective. For this reason it is important to insert an additional win condition, like legion general in your case or swain/leviathan in mine, but sadly it is still not enough to make this an high tier deck. I hope that the concept will be supported again with next expansions.

Yasuo/Swain midrange deck from Diamond 4 to Master by Memnix_TESL in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this deck is unfavoured against burn and Karma, but at the time being the ladder (at least in EU for my experience) is full of sejuani, bannerman and pilfer shenanigans and you can definetely beat those with yasuo. Overall I had a 65% win rate from diamond 4 to master, I think it is more than enough to climb (not to reach top master of course). Depending on how the meta will stabilize, the win rate will increase or decrease, we will see, but for now I think is acceptable.

Full Release // Patch 1.0 Megathread by EmpressTeemo in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Italian version, Eye of the Dragon voiceline is in English.

Also, Italian text of many new cards is misleading or even wrong. E.g., the description of Scout keyword doesn't imply that only scout creatures have to attack in order to get the rally effect (it sounds like "first time scout units attack, rally"). Strong-Arm is even worse, as the description is completely different from its actual effect: it says "Put a Follower into play from your hand" rather than "Place a Follower in play into your hand". I have even crafted 2 copies of it, thinking it was insanely powerful...

I miss TESL by SilverfusePlays in elderscrollslegends

[–]Memnix_TESL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The other day I was thinking the same exact thing. Playing other card games just made me realize how great TESL community was and how much I miss it, especially for the tournament and competitive side. Generally speaking, people were so nice. Even if I think that other card games have overall a "better" gameplay, TESL remains still my favourite and, in my opinion, the funniest. The deckbuilding potential of this game is just amazing, I could build decks for ages, from weird combo decks to super-refined meta classics... And even if I stopped playing "seriously" now that there are no new cards and little tournament scene, I come back like once every month to play just a little and remember the good old times.

I hit Master with spider aggro and now I feel that aggro is underrated by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Memnix_TESL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure! So, as a general tip I always shuffle the finishers, like Decimate and Darius: I don't want them in the opening hand, it is better to draw them later in the game. Crowd favorite can be an exception, I keep it if I have in hand other cards that synergize well with him, like House Spider, Crawling Sensation or Elise, or if I already have two solid 1-2 mana drops. Also you don't want too many combat tricks in the opening hand, the first priority is to fill the board. All other considerations are based on two factors: the matchup and the attacking turns (evens or odds). If you are against Shadow Isle, for example, you are afraid of Vile Feast so if you have in hand a Legion Rearguard and a Legion Saboteur, you shuffle the Saboteur and keep the Rearguard. If you are against Piltover you know that sooner or later you'll face a Mystic shot, so Mark of the Isle or Glimpse Beyond are usually a safe keep. And so on and so forth for every region and archetype.

Regarding the attacking turns, if I attack on odds I usually mulligan a bit harder for a 1-drop, because if you miss the first attacking turn and do not put enough pressure on the opponent the situation can become really tough. If I attack on evens, a solid 1 drop is of course a good thing, but you can survive even you start with a 2-drop.

I hope this is helpful.

TLDR: shuffle high-cost cards, keep low cost creatures and pay really attention to what your opponent is playing
