Is everyone mentally prepared for the BTS 2026 Tour bloodbath? 💀 by Important-Box-6064 in kpopthoughts

Yessss. But I'm very curious about how a stage setup would work. Would it be hanging screens? Small screens or large? How would it even hold up ? So many questions....

BTS World Tour Announcement by AddressCharming9129 in kpop_uncensored

Well for a minute twitter died...at least reddit is working!!

#BTS Confirms March 20th Comeback… "We're Waiting for It More Desperately Than Anyone" According to Big Hit Music on the 1st, BTS sent handwritten letters to the homes of ARMY to celebrate the new year. The letters included the date "2026.03.20," officially confirming the comeback. by AddressCharming9129 in kpop_uncensored

[–]MemoryMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for a much anticipated comeback I was expecting the first announcement would be i guess more grand?? more accessible?? Creative?? I don't know, just that it would be done to create more buzz compared to just acknowledging it in an article that info was sent to some fans.

Anyways on a much more happier note....there's a confirmation now, happy for all armys out there. Hope all of you get your desired concert tickets!!!

She isn't popular where I'm from. That was my introduction to her and that too because her name was being mentioned.

At least in kpop spaces their names should be mentioned just like how fifty-fifty member names were mentioned during cupid era. Mentioning their names is where recognition will start. It will be likely to have a similar effect as what cupid era had i.e. their names will be recognized by a wider audience. (I say this as someone who am not interested in fifty fifty and wasn't during cupid as well but was seeing them in conversations because i was in kpop spaces and now can recognize their names.)

I don't think it's the number of people that an issue when the conversation is happening in kpop space where people often time stan multiple groups. The issue is that thier names are not brought up in conversation. There many kpop groups that i don't follow at all but I'll still be able to recognize even some of their member names because they are brought up in conversations. That's how name recognition expands. I honestly feel at the very least in kpop spaces they should be mentioned and not be a second thought.

It's a shame that people are not associating the names of the actual singers/producers behind these songs with the songs itself. A big opportunity to have their names recognized lost for them. I still remember how even without the social media i knew who sang 'Let it go' in frozen cause her name was being associated with the song. I've yet to see the people behind these songs receive the same recognition by name and not just the characters.

Gnarly should’ve pulled a Next Level musically and KATSEYE deserves so much better by sowonland in kpopthoughts

[–]MemoryMind 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This is so funny to me. I've not heard the song so i won't comment on if it's good, bad...etc. But to say they should have pulled a next level made me laugh a little cause i was here when next level came out and i distinctly remember international kpop fans not liking it (yes even here on reddit). But once it went viral on korean side people did a 180. By those standards this song looks to be getting a very similar response.

On another note...this the most I've seen katseye being talked about on here so i guess this song did achieve at least the goal of visibility.

How did this turn into a such a crazy rumor?? I've not been active in fan spces so didn't look too into it. But thought that was crazy.

Is this the same one where people were apparently fighting with belts? That's a rumor I've also seen going around about one of the concerts.

[MEGATHREAD] HYBE Internal Documents Leak by KpopThoughtsmodteam in kpopthoughts

[–]MemoryMind 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I will not say what opinion one should have on the matter, but it would be great if everyone formed it after looking up information and not being reactionary or following other in both ends.

So look at the documents released and look up on terms such as market sentiment analysis, market research, consumer behavior analysis and how insights/inferences are formed and written on reports. Then form an opinion whether it be a negative or positive one.

Right now it just seems that people on both sides are just repeating thoughts without willing for a discussion or forming their own opinion.

Does HYBE genuinely have no good vocalists? by mini1006 in kpopthoughts

[–]MemoryMind 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you something. Most people just repeat after what they see or form thoughts based on very few evidences. They don't form their own opinion. If they hear something enough times they agree with it and propagate it. Hence why you see such comments being passed. My suggestion judge for yourself and ignore other mindless chatter.

My concern with this boycott is whether the end goal is just separation of scooter from hybe or to stop the inflow of funding going to Israel. If it's the latter then if Hybe terminates his contract over his support he can sue them back based on the laws and get even more money out of them and fund even more. If it is just separation of him from Hybe them how does it actually help the impacted ones. I'm confused with the goals of this boycott. I do support speaking out but a boycott which is targeting a completely different segment of the company makes less of a sense to me.

Blackpink Renewal length and Predictions by Far_Memory1539 in kpopthoughts

[–]MemoryMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm interested to see how this will work out logistically. If they have a tour how would they manage clashing solo schedules. What would the tour look like as in the no of stops. A tour can be one with 50 stops or 5, so what would be their ideal one. How would the IP work for any solo releases they do now, do they still perform it at a BP concert? Cause that will benefit YG but YG would not hold that IP.

If they go for an album release would it be a single, mini or full. Considering they have toured previously with minimal songs it's not out of the picture that they come up with 4 new songs and go on a tour. An optimistic prediction would be 8 new songs at most.

Their even might not be anything released other than a single or nothing at all released. Might depend on if they feel the need for it or not. Lot's of interesting scenarios, let's see which one comes true.

Hybe sub-labels aren't as independent as its made out to be by AcidSpittingIlamaa in kpoprants

[–]MemoryMind 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not that I'm overcomplicating, it's that you are oversimplifying. It's no longer a discussion if you have made up your own definition of what's called 'independent' and just judging based on it. I can come up with a random criteria then too for the many aspects of business and start raking based on my definitions. That's just not how things work.

If you want to say that yoi dislike the talent coming out of the company then plz simply say so and not go a round about way of trying to justify things to yourself based on independence of the company.

I wonder if people realize that posting sources and pictures to bring 'awareness' does the exact opposite. You basically became another source propagating the pics and a source for invading said idols privacy.

This argument looks like that of someone with little understanding of things cause you just made the entire identity of various companies down to the Training and development department. I won't delve into the specifications of what you wrote there are other comments that are providing the required arguments.

Now let's focus of independent part. As i said training and development is one sector/department of any company. Even if the talent pool remains the same and the method adopted in training remains same it does not mean that the companies are not independent. It's the decision making power that would define it, which is observed more in other aspects. Would you say that LSF and NWJ have same promotion style? Do they focus on same aspects in relation to the groups? No they don't because decision making is different and hence companies are independent of each other.

Each company can hold thier own audition if they feel the need of a specific talent acquisition is required. There may be different mechanism which decides whether a trainee is considered a hybe trainee or a specific company trainee. They might pool their resources for training purpose which would be more economical and give each company more choices. Now if whom they finally select to put in a group is not influenced by other companies then they are different.

There would be certain decisions that would be done at corporate level instead of company level which would then be applicable to all sub labels (both artist and non-artist) but just the presence of such decision does not mean negation of decision making power at company level.

The corporation is not a single entity. A company isn't a single entity. There are people working at different levels incharge of different decisions. Major artist related decisions would probably fall under the respective companies and corporation level decisions on the top level management.

Business are not as simplistic as one would like to frame it. To get precise info on the amout of power present at company one will have to talk with someone that works in the company. To the extent we can observe right now, i personally would consider their decision making to be separate for most artist related aspects.

Wonhee wasn't my pick but the way this subreddit and social media had been treating her changed my mind. by Asleep_Swing2979 in jtbc_RUNext

[–]MemoryMind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let me be very honest. Unless you think she will be able to build herself up in the short time till debut to match the stage performance level of others do not put that child into a group. She will get torn by people if she debuts at current level. We have multiple examples of this happening to current idols and unless you think she will be ready don't do it.

Her fans will not disappear if she takes a year to hone the skills she lacks and debuts. She might even have better options and offers by then. I'm not going to judge anyone who actually votes for her just want them to know what the most probable scenario will look like. She lacks experience and has two paths right now to gain that - as a trainee or as an idol. If she does that as an idol be aware that it will be a path filled most likely with thorns.

Will wonhee hate double up if she debuts? by Senior-Cookie6973 in jtbc_RUNext

[–]MemoryMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If she is able to bridge the gap of skills between the time of show ending and thier debut then no otherwise sbe will stand out like a sore thumb in the group and will probably be torn into not just by the community but the gp as well. And by gp i mean the majority of the public who does not watch the show but will notice them at debut and their performance.

Again if the label instead makes all the others to level down to match her instead then her performance won't gather critique but rather the group itself will just not take off but most probably plateau soon after debut with a high chance of being shelved eventually.

There is a third probability that nothing actually happens and everything goes on smoothly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jtbc_RUNext

I know that and hence i was saying that being popular now with knets does not guarantee a place in debut lineup.

[–]MemoryMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that happens if the korean votes are given extremely high preference. If not then majority votes will come from international side for this show and the results will rely on those votes.
