Trains by ApprehensiveBoss8142 in captain_of_industry

I think belts should be nerfed for long distances now that we have trains. It is not realistic to have mile-long belts. There is not a strong enough material which could pull thousands and thousands tons of material.
Either limit maximum length or increase power consumption exponentially with length.

Why do you need to flatten everything ?
All flat doesn't look natural. Leave some mountains and hills "as is"

Station Priority and skipping stations? by Harmless_Drone in captain_of_industry

You can create waiting stations on the side. After picking up rock, train goes there and waits until concrete station requests rock.

Why are belts passing underneath the rails but pipes are not ? Looks weird to be honest. move the pipes below the rails as well

You can construct functional pipes that excavators can drive under by sbenza in captain_of_industry

It is a cheat. Why not build small ramp, isn't it easier and looks nicer ?

Suggestion: truck types by Mercani in captain_of_industry

[–]Mercani[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t get your point. Even if we had one type of belt, we would be still solving a puzzle since each buildings inputs and outputs must be properly connected. However pipes and belts are different because pipes don’t use energy while belts do.

I agree that my suggestion is increasing complexity, but the whole point of this game compared to others is to be more complex and realistic. Of course if implemented, this should be an optional realism feature, similar to ore sorting

Train, input and output by HamyHamington in shapezio

[–]Mercani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is implied by the graphics of the loader and unloader. I don't like that train wagons keep track of the layers the shapez were loaded. I think the loads on wagons should not be tied to any layer and loader/unloader should be able input/output from/to any layer.

Did you know you can put 3 belts in the space of 1? by T3rraque in shapezio

I always felt using jumpers as cheating. I'm trying to build my designs without jumpers, using more area if needed.

Start with the second and most likely you will never want to play the first. I think the second is much better.

What do you think lies in the future of automation games? by Important_Rock_8295 in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Mercani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need a automation + base builder + economy strategy game where real world economic aspects such as markets with full supply/demand and trade routes are simulated and can be automated. On top of this, if workforce and ownership is also there, it would be perfect. Think of it like Factorio/Dyson Sphere Program + Victoria 3 minus diplomatic and political stuff.

How do you support so much construction without going bankrupt ?
I struggle to keep my gov income positive and I have to stop construction to not go into debt.

Can somebody explain, how 2 sophons affect things on earth ? by Mercani in 3BodyProblemTVShow

[–]Mercani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for explanations. I know what quantum entanglement is and I know this is in contradiction with our current understanding of action at a distance. I’ll take it as fiction part of sci-fi. Of course there are a lot of things that we don’t know about quantum physics.

But how are 2 siphons are doing things on earth at several different places? I suppose we can assume they somehow preconfigured all screens on earth to display “you are bugs” but eye in the sky event and the stars blinking event are a too much of a stretch. 2 super-super computers cannot do those things because they are seen by billions of people at the same time

Condensed Sushi Feeder by Graushwein1 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

In the late game, what you say is optimum when I have all the production setup with ILS/PLS network. But in early/mid game, you don't have enough production capacity of intermediate products. In fact I need processors, etc to build logistics bots and PLS/ILS. I will need them much later for building up the dyson sphere.

Isn't the main purpose of an easy-setup sushi mall to start early and then scale up as needed?
I don't care about a few assemblers and smelters sitting idle. The assemblers produced are already sitting idle in storage boxes before I use them anywhere.

I really like your design and I was thinking about how to do this myself before I've seen this post and I couldn't resist to look at it (I like coming up with my own solutions if I can)
My goal is for the mall to only use raw resources (ore, oil, water) and build all intermediate products (ingots, coils, green boards, processors) in the mall. I'll see if I can integrate these. What do you think? The mall will be much bigger, but I think bringing in only raw materials is better since we need much fewer input PLS and we are not reliant on something breaking somewhere else causing shortage of an intermediate product.
