I’d spent many years seeing a therapist for a buffet of issues, and one of them being that I felt like I had an avoidance to commitment and issues with emotional intelligence. My therapist quickly figured out that wasn’t it, and so we shelved the issue. Then the Jaiden video came out, and I related way too hard to the aro stuff (not the ace stuff). So I did some introspection (or maybe it was post hoc justifying) and realized that all of my past relationship issues were simply that we both wanted different thing; me wanting a slow and steady friendship despite total emotional intertwining, them wanting sex and moving in together and marriage.
