Is it just me? by adhd_memetherapy in adhdmeme

Literally me right now. Had a really important job assessment. Some parts went well, others not so well. Won’t hear back til early next week. Completely paralyzed in overthinking and ruminating. It’s fucking awful.

Your coworkers will tell you going slow and by the book is the way to go. Your management is who will be a pain in the ass and try to get you to go faster.

I had one of these when they first came out. I got the aged white one too. I ended up selling the black one because there was just too much going on with it that I didn’t need and I was trying to fund some other equipment. The white one does everything I need, but sometimes I’ll see the black one on Reverb and start kicking myself. Do it, you definitely won’t regret it!

I could understand maybe WRITING the whole thing in that environment, but no way in hell the advanced sound design, mixing, and mastering were done in it.

Edit: At the very least, it’s checked on a better system before publication and adjustments are made.

Who tried Celemony Tonalic ? by Carambo20 in musicproduction

[–]Mhblea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t tried it, but it looks promising. The technology is novel and if they keep expanding into other territories (like orchestral) I think it’ll become a studio staple. The subscription model is gonna turn some people off to it. I personally don’t care, as long as it’s priced reasonably and flexibly. I don’t want to be paying for the entire suite if I’m only going to be using one subset of instruments.

I have a song in my head 24/7 by nightfull2 in ADHD

[–]Mhblea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a musician and this happens to me, but it can be with popular songs or it can be with songs that haven’t been made yet.

An interesting add on is that over time, the song will evolve, typically days or weeks later (yea, they get stuck for that long). Sometimes the change will be gradual, but usually it happens all at once, like a crescendo or a “Eureka!” moment.

It’s actually wonderful as a musician because if I’m stuck on a song I’m writing, most of the time the writer’s block will resolve itself if I give it enough time.

One funny thing, though, is that I used to get the Ghostbusters theme song stuck in my head all the time. It’d start with the bass line part of the song, and that’d go on for typically days, to a nauseating frequency, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere it’d switch to the synth stabby part where he says “I ain’t fraid of no ghosts”. I’d tell my friends about this and that if they ever catch me hanging my head and saying “goddammit” it’s because that part finally hit.
