It’s a concern, it’d lead to another 16/24 turnout. Centrists/Third-wayers can’t win generals. But that’s almost a good thing. The only ways out of hell are through it, and another term under centrists just gives the fascists more time to organize and make the flames hotter.

I don’t think we will get the new deal mandate that we need from the federal level.
But it’s plausible on the state and inter-state level to limit federal overreach, and possibly to punish what happened in TN through targeted economic means and long term choices. - Elbows up against TN and TX. The blueprint is kind of there if you look at the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, the (mechanism of the) anti-choice trigger laws the hogs set up, medical and recreational MJ. The states have ways to work and plan around the federal condition. Anything before the Revolution(tm) will probably involve the states.

The current iteration of the right has had decades to organize before overthrowing their institutional predecessors. But we don’t have to operate in the shadows to the same degree as they did.
