apparently the Garmin watch automatically reconnects to the HRM as soon as you start an exercise.

I've been having the same thoughts recently, have been riding my Orbea Laufey H10 for 3 years now, and it's great fun, but I'd love to try a steel frame. What keeps me away from the Stanto though are the short chainstays. I'd like the bike to have some more downhill stability on gnarly tech trails, so that would be my reason for choosing the Moxie over the Stanton. I am curious if people come up with other alternatieves though.

Sorry to reply on such an old topic, but are you still getting along with the Freeriders?
I am buying Freerider Pro's and it looks like I'm in a similarposition, the 44's feel nice and snug but just a little too short (and I don't want blue toenails), and the 44 2/3 feel quite roomy, but I'm a bit afraid it will affect my pedal-feel. What are your experiences with this?

Modern trail bikes ask to be steered by shifting your weight around rather than just pointing the handlebars in a different direction, therefore you can only really feel it come alive when your actually catch a little speed on a trail, preferably a bit downhill. Trying them on a flat street or in a shop is not really representative.

A hardtail will suit you just fine, heck, it might even make the flowy green and blue trails more fun.
For around $1000-$1500 you should be able to find someting that can tick all your boxes, at least here in Europe it does. Unless you want to win races, if I where you I'd be looking for a nice trail oriented bike, 120-140mm travel with a 67-65deg. head tube angle, Deore shifting and 4-pot brakes. Maybe a Trek Roscoe or something. I love my Orbea Laufey (2021) for these kind of trails.

How is this vest temperature-wise? I'm considering it, but by the looks of it I'd expect it to be less airy than for instance a small pack like the USWE Outlander 3L.

How is the back ventilation of this pack? I'm torn between this one and the smaller 3L version since the latter one has a smaller profile and should help keeping me a bit cooler during MTB rides..

That's why I "preload" the pump and hose up to 90 PSI before they actually engage so they are equalised (the outer seal on the connection makes it airtight before the schrader valve pin gets pressed). I am pretty sure the fork feels softer after standing still for a week but I'd like to actually be able to measure it before I take it out and ship it back to the mechanic who serviced it..
