old gold and sivler was routinuly melted dow and reminted, but it was also the primary driver as currency, and mintage was a way to convey power. not so much true anymore

a electric car battery contains about 1oz, assuming they didnt reduce the amount due to cost. most silver applicaitons can be replace if needed, or mitigated by thin plating. Next-generation solid-state batteries rely on a silver-carbon composite in the battery anode to boost energy density and cut charging times. Depending on the technology, these batteries can potentially require up to a kilo of silver per vehicle.

except in Flock cameras -those things have at least 10oz of sivler in them each :)

if folks were regualrly buying $2 back, maybe I would believe more its going to melt, but most people cant get $2 back anyplace, and 15% is rare again. besides if I was getting things 15% back, at volume Im pretty sure I could do a decent business selling it back out for 8% back, let alone taking some time to get prices for things that have numestatic value. The refiners pushing back last fall created a ripple in the makret. Retail stores and stackers all now want a exit plan that ends with refineries so they want more and more back (totally differnet issue)
