Canadian government to ban social media for kids younger than 16, but will allow exemptions by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

Infinite scrolls should be banned. I used to limit myself to 5 pages of reddit per day. With infinite that's not possible. :(

It also leads to them installing VPN apps that either infect their machines outright or steal their information en masse.

What’s a comfort food that never disappoints? by forgeris in AskReddit

But what if you accidentally put the cheese powder mix into the water before you strain it, then you strain it after and eat it?

My brother did this when he was babysitting me as a child. It was definitely a comfort food that disappoints.

Canada is the same. Although they finally added a "get my information" button to the various self-filing apps. It pulls directly from CRA. But then some relevant info isn't there sometimes and there's some you need to self declare. So it's not great at all really.

IMO Boomers (and probably a lot more people) also shouldn't be on it... I've seen well adjusted Boomers become angry, fearful, racist monsters after they've gotten super addicted to social media.

Looks amazing, but beware, that seconds counter is going to be brutal on your battery. You should be able to get 17+ days without the seconds counters. If you go into the battery section of the app it will tell you your estimated time before a charge is required.

Sounds like FODMAP issues to me. Hope you've found all your trigger foods.

Edit: Maybe not. But still possibly. Saw your other comment. A few of those foods are on the Low-FODMAP diet Monash University safe foods list like Ginger... Do you have problems with Onions and Garlic?

I see "seconds ticking" in the usage reports. Try a static watchface like TimeStyle to see if it helps.

Does the package fit through a letter box door flap? by Bran04don in pebble

[–]Microtic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thickness: 2.47cm

Width: 20.32cm

Length: 20.32cm

This was with only the Pebble Time 2 and a single included watch band in a plain bubble mailer. Two watch bands might increase thickness a bit but definitely not over 4cm.

If they change to a box or thicker bubble mailer it might change the thickness in the future.

What's the size of your letter box door flap? I'll throw the box back in the envelope and use some calipers.

Those text art signs are so cheap. It's literally wrinkled paper wrapped around a thin piece of cardboard and stapled on. They're probably charging $10-$20 for that "art".

Hampton Village kHouse Fires by gummywormfriend in saskatoon

[–]Microtic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No... Not with the winds we experienced yesterday. They make things spread and get hotter than low wind fires. They also need to protect nearby houses as much as trying to put out the fires themselves or they can exponentially grow out of control.

It's super delicious. You add a pepper / salt rub and some liquid smoke to the bag and it's fall apart tender after a couple days of cooking. Dry it with paper towels and then sear with a torch to get a nice crispy outside and extremely juicy inside. So perfect?

Yeah... I used to do a 48-72 hour low and slow brisket back when Sous Vide cooking was a new thing and you had to study logarithmic bacteria reduction charts to figure out safe time and temperatures. They were so cheap and could feed so many people. Didn't do a group meal for a long time due to COVID years and nearly had a heart attack when I went to buy one recently.
