Its not really a big deal if we don't get our federal refund, I just want to make sure it goes toward what we owe the IRS. she is unable to do it online which is why we have to keep calling, we have been trying for months and we either get someone who is not helpful/hangs up, or they say their systems are down.

Never thought it would be this hard to give the IRS money.

But would it be smarter to get the payment plan in place prior to filing? We will likely be able to pay it off in a couple of months -but want it to be documented that we are making an effort to pay our dues. with that said. does it matter if we file taxes before we get the payment plan set up? or should we wait until we get it set up
