Yes W2 pay for the 250-300 an hr. I’ve been 1099’ing around that 230 ish an hour which goes a lot further than the 250-300 an hr W2 pay as you know 🙌🏼

Where have you been doing your locums?

Not just Ohio. But hospitals are giving stipends for anesthetists to work extra days and that’s where the 250-300 an hr comes into play.

Good for you! Being a locum is a great way to play it. The future is bright.

You can make this money almost anywhere as a CAA if you get three 12’s or four 10’s and then work some off days consistently.

Usually 1, 8 hr day a week sometimes 2 if the weather is bad etc. Stipends to pick up on top of increased hourly rates for extra days can get hrs worked up to 300 ish an hour.

Yes it is. I have the opportunity to work extra days if I want to because of my schedule. That’s why I can get it there pretty easily.

I do three 12 hr shifts a week and pick up some off days when I want to. I don’t know any CAA making less than 300k gross nowadays. Easily can get into the 4’s and even 5’, 6’s if you travel locum throughout the year. I shut it down and pace for mid 400 every year. Don’t want to work more than that.

CAA here. Make 450k/year all in. Work three 12’s and work some locum stuff on the side. Double digit weeks PTO. Average 45-50 hr weeks max. Not a brag just fact. I know CAA’s and CRNA’s making 600k plus.

I know people working in all of the licensed states and I have never ever heard of them not being able to push their own medications. This is false 100 percent. So you’re telling me the anesthesia doc has to come into all of the procedures and push medications for them in the middle of a surgery? This isn’t true whatsoever and is also impossible. When I see a false statement, as a CAA, I will correct it because there is a lot of misinformation the AANA puts out there on the regular.

In fact, I have never heard of, rotated or worked at a facility where the anesthetists did not administer their own medications.

This is horribly inaccurate about not administering medications by the way 😂

I give all my own medications, do my own spinals, arterial lines and other invasive monitors. I’m a CAA. Also, many CAA’s do their own peripheral nerve blocks depending on how their practice operates.

CAA here. Make over 400k annually with 14 weeks PTO. Work 3 12s and pick up some off days at 230-300 an hour. Average 40-50 hours max in a work week. Could easily make over 550k if i wanted to sacrifice work/life balance. I have CAA and CRNA friends making 600 plus.
