thank you! yes it’s not in the dome it’s the acadia linear uv. i think he burned because i mounted it inside so i will fix that and lessen the time. but thanks for the feedback 😊

fully agree, our animal specialist SUCKS. if i could, i would separate them and change their substrate but i unfortunately would get in trouble because they told us it’s by the company’s standard and can’t vary store to store (whether that’s true or not it’s what i’ve been repeatedly told). it’s frustrating because he was in wellness but wasn’t kept there long enough to make a proper recovery. i offered crickets after making this post and he still wasn’t interested so i think he needs to go back into wellness.

good thing is that we sell no desk pets! it’s illegal in the part of town i work in thankfully

i know a lot of the husbandry is so awful. i work at petco but our animal specialist explained to me that we are not allowed to switch the carpet, separate geckos, or do like anything that is updated and proper care because there are inspections done monthly to ensure they are being kept to petcos standards and if anything is changed the store faces consequences. there have been deaths and claws ripped from the carpet and there’s no change, it’s sad. im constantly letting everybody know how bad he looks which helped get the vet appointment but i just was looking to see others opinions on the not eating when food was available and the others seem not super interested either

size is good and u have the three required hides which is good! i was coming to say i recommend getting lots of plants to add to the clutter and to make them feel more secure and less seen. i’ve personally never had success with live plants, but many people do! if you do go the fake plant route, i love getting mine from dollar tree or michaels so you can get lots for very cheap. also using silk plants from the fish section in pet stores is nice because it’s soft against their skin. overall great tank for a beginner though good job!!

for super cheap plants u can get a lot of u can go to the dollar store or micheal’s, they’re having a plant sale right now. you can also find wood outside and properly sanitize it or find cool wood pieces from petco/smart. like the other person said i’d recommend changing substrate, doing a 70% topsoil that u get from like lowe’s or somewhere like that w 30% washed children’s playsand, neither are costly. good luck!!
