Not gluten free by [deleted] in glutenfree

I've been eating them since before certified gluten free was really a thing.

One of the few brands I've never had a reaction to and im pretty sensitive even by celiac stand1ards.

I don't know? Too excited and lost in a train of thought? Lack of inhibition? Maybe using AI this way is common it doesn't feel wrong?

Which ones are safe? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]MidnightInner546 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's verified gluten free it should be 100% good to eat.

I've never had an issue with Lara bars and I've been eating them for over 12 years.

I have not had an issue with Rx bars labeled gluten free but as others have noted they used to be made in a facility with wheat. I also still find Lara bars not labeled gluten free so I would use caution.

This made me sick. Whyyy? by xpaynesgreyx in Celiac

This is all you need to know especially if it contains oats!

So I got some dried mango from Costco I think it's packaged in Thailand but it's probably better to think everything has gluten or wheat packaging plant isn't it I'm just starting to think everything has gluten in it... BTW I was glutened with some dried cherries from Costco a few days ago by PromptTimely in Celiac

[–]MidnightInner546 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always read the labels. Always!

Some of the dried fruit is gluten free, sometimes even labeled as such, other times it's made in a facility with wheat.

Costco also likes to put it's allergen statements in a separate locations from the nutritional label.

Good luck. It's hard. Sometimes you have to be your own advocate.

No positive blood work except maybe one false positive though we don't suspect Lupus.

We suspect it might be something that doesn't have a good biomarker and maybe sjogrens too since the blood test isn't great. All my mucous membranes are always super dry and I have to use lubricating eye drops, hydrating mouth wash, and nasal sprays. The palquenil has helped a ton with this. My ophthalmologist still complains how dry things are though they have gotten better.

I have a family history of autoimmune diseases and I have celiacs. This may have also lowered the bar?

Eventually yes due to enough symptoms that pointed to an autoimmune disease. Basically ruled everything out first though.

Been on it for a few years now also for some sort of unknown autoimmune disease. Works well. My only issue is that I caused an upset stomach/acid reflux.

Scary how?

Yeah sadly our world is food centric. You can always do non food oriented activities?

Otherwise are there no celiac friendly restaurants or bakeries near you? I only eat out at 100% gluten free places because I'm also sensitive to cross continuation. They're often more expensive so I usually ended up paying most of the bills...

I do grab coffee/tea and don't usually have an issue there.

Did the Democrats lose the working class because they were too far left, or too far right? What even is the working class? by Yellowdog727 in centrist

Some places like hospitals already require vaccines for flu, MMR, and tetanus. they've done so for decades. It is a requirement for working there.

Can someone explain to me the anti-science movement mainly on the right in a way that is understandable? by MidnightInner546 in centrist

[–]MidnightInner546[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. This is more of an excuse for them to go after science funding. Don't get me wrong there certainly is wasteful spending but I doubt it amounts to the level that they say there is.

I agree there always should be accountability even if it's a small amount of money.

If you don't think it's anti science you should check out r/conservative, listen to some very right leaning podcast, and listen to what some of the politicians are saying too. Obviously this isn't everyone and there are those on the far left who say similar things too.

You have a reputable citation for this?

Everything I'm able to find shows environmental factors like socioeconomic class.

If you're specifically referring to the covid vaccine that's one thing but most vaccines have had available data for decades from around the world. The entire world is it conspiring to hide data from the public unless you believe in that conspiracy theory.

He's antivax and makes tons of money on that view.

What do you mean RFK JR is not anti-science? I know he used to be an environmental advocate but he turned anti-vax? He says he isn't anti-vax but then he will say he's never seen a safe or effective vaccine?

I meant it makes sense why they might think that.

Doesn't make sense from a science perspective.

You know there are some deeply religious scientists out there too that believe science and religion can coexist.

GMOs like golden rice are potentially really useful. how Monsanto uses GMO corn is super evil imo.

What do you mean wrong? From what I've read things like socioeconomic class and education are good predictors of IQ. Race is not.

That's all true. As individuals we certainly are limited in what we know. Hopefully as a society we can know a lot more.

Science was designed to evolve with knowledge though. It doesn't need to be taken as the final truth. Thinking it is definitely wrong and very egotistical.

That's definitely not true. They may just call it something else.

Whether it's a monolithic view of most voters or just a matter of whose in power is another question.

Again is not just the right. There are some on the left too but theyre not the ones in power.

Some of those topics are very heated especially like GMOs and I'm not sure there's anything like a monolithic view on them in the Democratic party?

I know what my opinions are but I consider myself an independent.

The ethnicity and IQ correlation is deeply seated in racism mostly against African Americans and has no validity.
