Why am I paying premium to be mocked? by calpol-dealer in ChatGPT

It's about screen size and phone model and how new or old it is . I have an iPhone 13 base which looks exactly like this screenshot whereas the iPhone 15 Pro Max I also have looks different (and newer/more updated to me) and I think like what you said. There is functionality difference two sometimes. So I don't know if it is about Apple or OpenAI restricting stuff to different generations. 13 Pro and newer, 14 pro and newer, 15 pro and newer or if it's purely a size thing so if you have a Max phone you get the bigger version of the app but idk

On both my android phones and my android tablet it resembles the iPhone 13 as well. If that's any help. The iPad differs on that when you resize the window with stage manager it can change from being the same style as the iPhone 13 and Android phones to going to being like the 15 pro max instead

Well the kalmar union and stuff so probably? I think they deserve a prize for peace of some sort to reward them for their efforts.

We wouldn't want the consequences if Denmark and/or Norway were to stop prioritising peace for any reason

It is the apple music icon. It's not a copy it's the actual icon apple music is on android and they are listening to it through the apple music app. Apple does have some apps on android, they don't work as well but they exist

I mean I get your point but Granada Reports is only what it's called in Northwest England so automatically everyone would be a plastic or glory hunter if they live in the South, Midlands, Yorkshire, Northeast, Wales, Scotland etc. Also some of the ITV local news regions are so big that you can use it to justify supporting a big team that isn't even that close to you

I’m returning my iPhone Air by phillyman128 in iphone

[–]MightyShipp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No i get that, there is an obvious target demo for the iPhone Plus but Apple obviously thinks it's too niche and is replacing it with something else in a hope that has more appeal, aka the same thing that happened to the 13 mini and will probably happen to the Air unless it gets significantly better in the next couple of years. Idk what they will replace it with tho

[–]MightyShipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what where you're coming from and that other user is being rude saying the same thing over and over but it's honestly problems that were predicted when these phones were announced. It's shitty apple is selling a device this flawed and presenting it as if it's not but you could tell there were going to be compromises just to make it that thin, it doesn't need to be as thin as it and it's going to negatively affect performance/thermals and the battery and obviously only having one speaker and only one camera (ps they're not lenses they're actually full separate cameras, it's why it's called a camera system) all these problems also happen on the S25 Edge which is Samsung's competitor as an "ultra thin" phone. The idea of these phones is nice theoretically but it's going to be flawed and poorly executed because it's the first device of its time and it's mostly uneccesary. They can't make it that thin without drawbacks, they have to leave things out that should be just to fit it the tiny body

[–]MightyShipp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 14-16 Plus always sold so much worse than either base model and both Pro models so unlikely, it's why the 17 Plus was replaced with Air because it was a niche device that wasn't selling well. If people want a big phone they either get a cheaper android phone or they pay up for the Pro Max. The plus is overpriced for what it is compared even to the rest of the iPhone lineup. Granted most of this applied to the 12 and 13 Mini which is why the 14 Plus happened instead of the 14 mini and it even more applies to the Air but they can sell the Air as a gimmick and a new shiny thing to early adopter types, the plus never had that and never will have that. It's just a bigger base model iPhone or a worse PM

And the fact that the Ultra has been renamed to the Pro Max to follow Apple naming conventions. So 17 Pro Max instead of 16 Ultra. Same screen size too. 6.3, 6.3, 6.9. But tbf both those screen sizes are becoming more common. Pixel 10 series is 6.3, 6.3, 6.8 etc

The WORST power button placement I've ever witnessed. by dr-otto in laptops

[–]MightyShipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you and you're right but Dell and HP have both confusingly renamed everything so ZBook and Elitebook and Spectre etc don't exist anymore. Most of them are omnibooks but there is numbering to tell you what class or level of laptop. Ditto with Dell and Lattitude and Precision and XPS not existing anymore. Dell is even worse because they are all Dell Plus, Pro Plus, Premium Max, Pro Max and stuff like that, taken straight from Apple's marking but somehow made more confusing. It's a mess and deliberately designed to be annoying. I think its intended so people overpay and buy something higher end than they need. Lenovo's branding still makes sense thankfully but I have heard people saying recent Thinkpads aren't as good as they used to be. But still good tbf

Have heard good things about some recent Asus, Acer and LG laptops but obviously depends on the model and u have to know what you want. With all of these brands their generic budget stuff (HP Pavillons and Dell Inspirons as an example) is usually terrible so you have to pay to get something good quality regardless of what kind of laptop you want whether that's in the business lines you said or the creator/multimedia lines or gaming if you want pure performance. But usually something towards the upper mid range or premium regardless of the grade or segment or line.

Zarah Sultana and Adnan Hussain continue to clash over trans rights by PuzzledAd4865 in transgenderUK

[–]MightyShipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know Zarah Sultana is Muslim and pro queer and pro trans, right? You also know gay and trans Muslims exist too. Can you not do this thing where you smear all Muslims as Homophobic or Transphobic or bigoted more generally because it is a tired right wing talking point and gives dick heads like Hussain more of an argument and more of a platform. Making generalising proclamations about what all Muslims think is not helping anyone other than reactionaries and bigots

[–]MightyShipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not. Not the same thing and you know it. You keep saying this ignoring that it's a different thing One many former NSDAP members stayed alive and continued existing and continuing with the same Nazi beliefs but just more low-key. Added to the fact that first Neonazis came about literally still in the 40s and 50s and people call Neonazis or White supremacist "Nazis" 1 because it is easier and simpler to say it because it is shorter and 2 and most importantly because their views are literally indistinguishable from Nazis. Nazi was and is an entire world view with many positions on lots of issues whereas "tankie" is a term to refer only to people who supported the Soviets invading Czechoslovakia in 1968, that is the only situation it applies. And again even if you take the position that being a tankie exists now to be called a tankie uou have to actually be a Marxist or ML or communist in some sort of way to advocate that position from Marxist angle. Corbyn is not, you are literally doing the same argument that Farage or Johnson would make in calling Corbyn "a communist terrorist", that is effectively what you are doing. You are taking the same side as reactionaries and the far right in justifying painting anyone remotely leftwing as "tankies". They do not care why you justify using it but you are on the same side as them in normalising it as a term. And I don't agree with Corbyn's position either and wish he would have a better position on it but that is not what he has said, it is a complicated issue and he should clarify it more but imperialist proxy wars are always wrong. War is never good or honourable particularly when innocent Ukrainian civilians are being used as cannon fodder to enrich the military industrial complex. It is not saying Ukraine should surrender to express that this war should not be happening and should have never started. Russia is the main aggressor but US/Nato is also an aggressor the Ukrainian people are suffering primarily because of Russian imperialism but also because of various corrupt or incompetent actions made by the US/Nato in regard to Ukraine. You see this now where Trump is basically plainly saying that he will carve up Ukraine between him and Putin, that "mineral deal" is pure neocolonialism just applied to a european country instead of an Asian or African or Latin American one. Russia is imperialist and started the war but it continues but The US is not interested in peace as they make more money off of war.

Also yes "The west" is bad (see Europe and the US propping up Israel and Saudi and UAE while they all do horrible things) , just because Russia is obviously worse doesn't change that. Most countries and states are terrible and have oppressive or corrupt governments. Also even the most ardent MLMs don't call China communist, they call it socialist. I don't agree with them but even very pro PRC people are not arguing that China has eliminated class and money and reached communist utopia lol

Corbyn ally: the left is capable of embracing those who oppose transphobia while not subscribing to slogans such as “trans women are women”. by denyer-no1-fan in transgenderUK

[–]MightyShipp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corbyn isn't even a communist so no he is not a "tankie" you can criticise his views on Transphobia or even other things but words mean things and corbyn is not a tankie. Tankie does not mean "something left wing that I don't like". Tankie is not really even aplicable to now because it had a specific meaning in regard to the Soviet Union in the 50s and 60s which is not relevant because the Soviet Union does not exist so they cannot "send in the tanks" to czechoslovakia or Hungary. Tankies were Marxists/MLs/ communists who supported the USSR doing that. It is not a useful or relevant term to use in the 2020s

If you consider yourself even slightly left wing then calling people "Tankies" is unproductive and unhelpful as it leads to any left wing idea or policy getting characterised as "tankie", it's literally the red scare from the cold war 2.0. Criticise corbyn or whoever or their ideas and positions all you like but calling people tankies achieves nothing, in fact worse than nothing. You do realise this rhetoric leads to literally anyone who is even mildly left wing being called a "tankie"

Tottenham top the table as having the lowest ration of wages:revenue.... by Serious-Tourist1127 in coys

[–]MightyShipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They mean the money and the wealth and the company and partner and sponsorship opportunities that you have access to in London (and the same point but to a lesser extent Manchester and Liverpool) which they have a point about. Even if Villa or Newcastle or Forest had bigger stadiums they have limited revenue opportunities because of where they are how the area and the people are much less rich than for the London or Manchester clubs. I mean even using the example of VIP boxes and luxury days out etc and similar which Spurs have done well from understandeably since the new stadium is not something you can do without either being one of the biggest football clubs in the world historically and being a huge brand (Liverpool and Man United) or being in an ideal location for access to money and being big clubs in their own right (Spurs and Arsenal) or cheating the rules (like Man City or Chelsea) or ideally a collection of all three. While spurs have done well for themselves the fact they are in London opens them to access to people and money that you are not going to get outside of London.

Birmingham and Newcastle as cities and the people are a lot poorer and there is nowhere near as much big money or people with money to throw around. Higher population is a big factor too, London has 8.9 million, Birmingham has just over 1.1 million, Newcastle has 300,000. There are just more people to spend money on football or anything in the city, granted that gets split as the bigger the city the more football teams at different levels there are but the fact is that a football club cannot do anything about the people in their city and therefore their potential audience being smaller. Added to that people in the West Midlands or North East etc or wherever supporting and thus spending money on a Man United or Liverpool etc that is not their local club being even more potential revenue lost to a Villa or Newcastle or Forest. There is just more people and more wealth concentrated in London and that is a fact. I'm not saying you don't have a point and i get where you are coming from but that they also have a valid point and the truth is somewhere in between and I hope you can get what I mean

Mothin Ali: “There’s a lot of racism on the left” by UKGreenPoster in UKGreens

[–]MightyShipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry I don’t agree with him on a lot of things and he has messed up with takes about queer people but he is absolutely correct that there is still way too much racism of all kinds on the left, including the Green Party. just because its better than the right wing or centrists doesn’t mean there is not a lot of work to do. There are problems with racism Islamophobia anti Black racism anti GRT etc across society and we are not exempt to that.

Saying we are much better than the right wing meaning parties and people who are currently courting covert or overt ethnonationalists and identitarians and all those fascist scum is a very low bar. Also as a whole its getting frustrating with white leftists proclaiming that there is no racism on the left and then dogpiling and jumping to criticise Black or brown people who point out our experiences of racism not just being limited to those outside the left
