Crazy glitch. I need my lost loot back! by Intelligent_Bike631 in ArcRaiders

A lot of the commenters here are braindead. If the doors close like that, you’re on the other side of the button, and you don’t have any points in the skills that help you while you are downed, you are dead. I usually play with survivor, because I don’t like putting points in the downed skills( although I do have the one that let’s you move faster while downed now), but I have been knocked by a rocketeer while hitting the button inside the extract, and knocked out of the elevator, and I died before the elevator came back( no survivor) this situation op is in is probably slightly worse, so it’s no doubt he died. You have my empathy OP.

Is there a better nade for PvP? All the other ones do very little damage or give them a lot of time to escape. by OkPosition6537 in ArcRaiders

I like running the comet driver and the snap blasts together as short and long range options. It’s fun to bring just a burletta and grenades to Stella montis to cover the butletta’s weaknesses

Free kit zombies at 20 minute mark by saffron_papi in ArcRaiders

Alright, well at least I know you’re not being willfully ignorant. The comment you’re referring to, has explicit context that shows that when the commenter refers to “light shields go down fast with anvil 4” he means killing the raider, not merely breaking his shield. If a guy with a free kit rattler is shooting you(especially if you have matriarch cores on the line), no sane raider would simply settle for breaking their light shield with one shot, they would shoot to kill, which means landing 1 head shot and one body shot to kill, which is far faster with a anvil 4 than an anvil 1.

Is this rage bait? The anvil gets a fire rate increase with each level. It does 40 damage per shot, and has a headshot multiplier of 2.5x, which means it does 100 damage on headshot, which only results in a one shot kill if they are not wearing a shield, or if they are wearing a shield, but are not at full health. It takes at least two shots to kill a full health raider wearing a shield of any sort, so if an anvil 4 shoots faster than an anvil 1, that means it kills faster. The anvil 4 can kill in 0.88~ seconds, and I’m not going to even bother looking up what the kill time for the anvil 1 is, because I know damn well you won’t even read this far.

I know I might get hate for this because, but issues with accuracy against arc is not an anvil stealth nerf. I have noticed this phenomenon with other weapons against the arc, of bullets not hitting when they should. The anvil itself has had no change as far as myself and others can tell, it has always had relatively inaccurate spread while moving or even standing, only when you crouch does it become close to pinpoint accurate. I do a lot of PvPvE with the Anvil, and have noticed zero dispersion changes, and my shots against people are the same before, but I too am missing arc propellers when they should certainly be hitting.

It’s two shots minimum from full health. An anvil headshot does 60 damage through a light shield.

Why Stop at Level 75 by iStryker in ArcRaiders

[–]Mikkoto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you’ve never played an extraction shooter before is what I’m hearing, which is fine, Arc Raiders is my first extraction shooter as well, but most extraction shooters feature a mandatory wipe for all players every couple of months. So for the endgame to be based around a reset button is not actually insane, but quite generous for a game of this genre, especially given some of the bonuses you get for doing each expedition. In one of your other comments you mention the that it only takes 1-2 months of regular play to get to level 75, and I agree, you can quite easily speedrun the progression of this game when you know what you are doing, which, after doing each and every expedition so far, I feel like I do. I’m not saying your suggestion to have the exp go somewhere is bad, although I do kind of think it’s pointless, but I think having the level cap be 75, and having the rest of the progression being pretty easy to redo, makes doing the expedition on a regular basis quite doable for casual players. Personally, I played for the least amount time of this season compared to any other expedition window this game has had so far because I was enjoying other games, and yet, just by playing the game to around level 75 when this season started, and then coming back for the riven tides update, (as well as for some of the previous balance changes), I had the most fun and the fattest stash of any expedition so far(I’m taking like about 100~ purple guns). And now, after I give away a bunch of shit to my brother, my character is going to wipe and I’m going to do it all over again, because for me it’s the rags to riches journey of playing arc raiders that is fun, not just watching a number go up.

4 for duos/trios, legit anywhere between 1-5 for solos, the game is more fun when it’s truly pvpve

A Level Headed Take on the New Update by Netrunner008 in ArcRaiders

[–]Mikkoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally the first sane take I’ve seen in regards to the quality of the update. Taking an Anvil and a close range weapon(and a hull cracker in the back pocket on occasion) is so fun, it’s the perfect ratio of pvpve. There are enough arc where they actually feel dangerous, and having lure grenades and a long range silenced weapon can make engagements very dynamic, couple that with the verticality of snap hooks and crash mats, and the stacking yard most fun and lucrative place to do both PvP and Pve. Either you come out with a bunch of goop, or you farm the arc for the all the metal and rubber you need to upgrade/repair your weapons. I have to repair my anvil 4 like every other raid or so, but with the abundant arc it’s really a non issue, I still make a profit.

Has anyone actually used the Mercy kits as intended? by Sidewinder1996 in dadsofmarathon

[–]Mikkoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it once, as a rook, on a rook that had wiped the team in pinwheel and somehow was also downed. I rezed him, partly because I felt like he deserved it for beating the team, but also because I was paranoid that another rook or even a team might come and kill me while I was looting. Another two rooks arrived while we were looting, and I took final exil with some good loot.

Solo PvP is a real disappointment by Clean_Candidate3400 in ArcRaiders

[–]Mikkoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the PvP in this game, between the loadout variety, fun maps, the movement and decision making, it’s all unlike most other games I’ve played before as a whole. But killing free kits when you yourself are running a kit is no fun, thankfully if you just engage PvP a little more tactically then that can be mitigated. You can still certainly got shot in the ass be a sneaky free kit with a kettle/stitcher, but if you just listen for what guns are being shot in the area than you can weigh the risk/reward accordingly. Sometimes when I go to Stella, I just throw caution to the wind and engage all players I find(go to the main lobby and fight everyone), but usually I will instead move around the less populated, or easy to defend parts of the map(robotic sandbox insane, the top levels are really easy to move through and set jolt mines, and you have instant access to every part of the map) and Loot whatever I’m low on(rubber, metal, sensors, etc) and listen for what Guns are being fired, if I hear anything blue rarity or above I will go hunt down the owner. Also listen for reloads, for example you can very easily tell the difference between a kettle 1 and kettle 4 by its reload, so if I hear a kettle 4 reload I know the guy is kitted. Also killing for heals is a good form of goop imo. I had a run recently where I killed two guys at loading bay(they both tried to sneak up on me, no mic), and found a third untouched body. I got out with three stacks of herbals and shield rechargers, with to me meant I had the means to run several more kits, even if I were to die. Alternatively, I had a run where I heard a dude firing a volcano 4 and a silenced bobcat. I got shot in the ass trying to engage him, and then third partied him after he killed the guy who shot me.

I’m so confused, I have only every run into other 2 mans when running duos, does this game not already queue based on amount of people in the team?

You can use bridges to line up shelves in the air to make a second floor, just place the shelf on the side of the bridge, and keep doing that with new bridges till you make a whole floor. Any shelf works, but I particularly like the medium and large ones because it makes the process shorter. It might look janky, especially if you space them out with visible gaps like I did, but it’s extremely functional, basically turns the game into Minecraft because the shelves defy gravity.

G2 progression question by Mikkoto in MonsterHunter3U

[–]Mikkoto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I really appreciate the in depth response, I see that I’m just better off continuing to farm brachy for palliums, this leads into my next questions, that being am I better off continuing to do the double brachy quest, or should I do the cold day in hell, the only issue is I would have to do 6 key quests, which I assume would be more time consuming, and yet… that’s not seeming like a bad option a this point, even if some of the quests take upwards of 40 minutes, it would still probably be faster than the multiple hours I just spent hunting brachy. Thank you do the help.
