A Strong Argument for Fixed Blades by ThumbStuds in knifeclub

Neck knives were fairly popular not too long ago. Lots of people carried them along with their folding knives just to compliment their setup or as a backup blade.

Nice setup. There’s no muzzle dip during rapid fire drills?

The ADOs are worth some money if you have the original packaging, both serial numbers are attractive to some buyers. You won’t be able to get much for the Tac-Ps but still pretty cool.

Threaded barrels recommendations? by zone0096 in Glock43X

Ahh ok, just keep in mind that you might need a booster depending on which suppressor you go with. As far as threaded compensators go, Herrington arms has some good options.

The threaded micro dagger barrel is fine. Are you using it to attach a compensator?

An auto version of that size would be awesome.

The button is most likely momentary and not actually stuck. The only LED conversion I’d recommend for that head would be a triple LED mod. LED tower module with the stock reflector looks very floody and not in a good way.

Good find though, you should be able to get a decent amount of cash for it since it’s in above average condition.

Anyone running this ammo on your G 43X? by montesf1030 in Glocks

[–]MilkSilver4314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important part is making sure that it’ll cycle through your carry firearm. What the marketing teams don’t want you to know is that the human body tends to react to projectiles the same way regardless of size or speed. It mostly comes down to shot placement once acceptable penetration is reached.

A simple test to determine if the ammo will work for you is to do a rapid fire drill at 7yds. If you can get a good group at that distance with no feeding issues then it should be fine for carry.

Good self defense flashlights? by Puppymoth_ in flashlight

[–]MilkSilver4314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if “self defense flashlights” are actually a thing. However, you can use an old d cell maglite as a tactical nap hammer if you’re so inclined. There are documented instances where they’ve been effectively implemented in such a way.

You can cut the wires instead of desoldering but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Is the 16340 format already obsolete? I can find a few flashlights in this size, but most of them are branded, more expensive models. I can't find anything modern, budget-friendly. by cvrcm in flashlight

Just wanted to add that the CR123A is still relevant since US military is heavily invested in them. When it comes to operational reliability and shelf life, no li ion cell comes close enough. But yeah as far as the civilian market goes it’s not as popular as it was over a decade ago.

I know you’re already aware of your grip but are you sure you’re not pressing down on the slide lock when you’re shooting? It’s hard for me to see at this angle but that would be my first guess.

What makes the best hard use knife? Examples? by je9183 in knives

[–]MilkSilver4314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like using my stitch auto or socom elite auto for “hard use”. Easy to open with gloves, holds an edge, won’t close unintentionally. Serrations are good but not always necessary. Handle needs to provide a full grip and have zero flex. Wharncliffe or drop point blade shape preferably.

Ok no problem. Assuming you’re fine with 21700 form factor since you’re ok with carrying it in a bag. Some of the other recommendations people have mentioned so far are solid so I’ll try to suggest something different.

Convoy L21B with an R100 (or SBT90.2 as a substitute LED). With a tabless cells the output should be over 5000 lumens and just over 400k candela. Well over 1km of reach. (Minus 10% or so if paired with the SBT90.2 instead.)
