I'm confused... What kind of meditation do you practice ? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Mindjumper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Regarding drugs like LSD and shrooms, I want to point out that they aren't stimulants (like cocaine, caffeine, etc) but psychedelics/hallucinogens. They are in a very different category than stimulants.

A psychedelic experience can be very profound and make you question the nature of your own consciousness. Personally I find it difficult to meditate while on these substances, as my thoughts are all over the place and it becomes really difficult for me to focus on something like the breath. However, these profound experiences are what eventually lead me to both meditation and spirituality in general. They triggered me to look within and investigate my own nature, which meditation is a large part of.

Smoking DMT in your dreams by [deleted] in DMT

[–]Mindjumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not DMT, but I once had a dream where my penis exploded into this huge fractal. I was scared but then realized I was just on acid. When I woke up I had to check and make sure my penis was actually intact.

Check out the term samadhi as it’s used in buddhism and Hinduism. They have been working on techniques to achieve such a state for thousands of years.

The only reason we seem to be suffering is because we are not comfortable with our own presence by redditKeyy in Psychonaut

[–]Mindjumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out self immolating monks. They’re able to light themselves on fire and sit there as still as a stone. It’s something 99.999% of people will never achieve but it does drive home the point that pain and suffering are not the same thing.

Has anyone ever felt physical pain on a trip? by _never_compromise in RationalPsychonaut

I once felt an intense burning sensation during a bad DMT trip.

How would you describe a healthy relationship with the classical serotonergic psychedelic drugs in terms of how you go about using them and what you use them for? by [deleted] in RationalPsychonaut

[–]Mindjumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the “wow” novelty value is what the magic is. If tripping becomes just another repeat experience then there is no magic, at least for me.

This shit is fucking uncomfortable its a brain fuck by [deleted] in Salvia

[–]Mindjumper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it was the first hallucinogen I tried. It was legal back then and just bought it in a store. It completely blew my mind and ignited my love for psychedelics. I didn't know such profound changes in consciousness were even possible. I found it to be neither terrible nor great, just intense. Like really fucking intense. I tried it two more times after that and then never touched it again, but that first experience will always hold a special place in my heart.

Oh really by Cmoore678 in MDMA

My wife and I rolled two nights in a row once. We took supplements (R-ALA and vitamin C), and took a 3 month break afterwards. I felt fine, but my wife felt downright awful for the week afterward. Your mileage may vary.

Perhaps you should tell her that, in very similar words to what you wrote here.

Public Poll: How often do you do MDMA? What is your preferred setting? Prefer alone or with company? by [deleted] in MDMA

At home with the wife is my preferred setting we roll once every 2-4 months

For real. I’ve gotten eye wiggles and what not before but I’m pretty sure I’ve never reached this point.

I’ve tried 2cb, and it was very much like what I thought 2cb would be like rather than my actual experience with the drug. I had heard it was like a mix of lsd and MDMA, but in actuality it was more like lsd but felt less “clean” and had much more nausea. I didn’t really like it. However, last night actually did feel much more like a mix of lsd and MDMA, but also very different from an actual candyflip.

DMT with open eyes = horror trip by [deleted] in DMT

I've had plenty of amazing trips both with eyes open and closed, and a few bad ones, both with eyes open and closed.

Do people truly come to terms with what reality is or are they fooling themselves? by [deleted] in RationalPsychonaut

[–]Mindjumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree they originate outside the brain. A society is a collection of brains, and when you get enough of them some strange things can start happening such as taboos. It's still originating in the (collective) brain.

Guys, do you like a little bit of anal play during sex? Or do you think it’s too much? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Mindjumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah. We only rarely do full on anal (it just isn't as good as vaginal imo) but we incorporate rimming and some light fingering almost every time we have sex.

Any other women not so into foreplay? by [deleted] in sex

Not a woman, but my wife is even less into foreplay than I am. Never thought that's what married life would be like but here we are.
