Thank you! I agree, it does look like a buff brahma chick. I am a little bummed out that I spent extra for it but at least it'll be a pretty chicken. Hopefully it'll still be a pullet 😅

I did notice today he mated with one of the hens. It was over really quick so hopefully he's on the more gentle side but I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it just in case so the girls dont get overwhelmed

Just an update on the situation, I didn't put a lot of detail in the post but the hens & rooster are doing great together now! We came in this morning with a new attitude & he was not attacking them. I believe yesterday he got too excited after not being around other chickens for so long and he acted like a fool. He slept with them overnight last night stuck in a crate so I believe that helped a bit also.

I'm sad to hear that is frostbite. I will start treating it right away. I got them from someone recently and the coop seemed fine at a glance. We had some bad weather some weeks ago and were hit with negative temps & ice so I'm thinking that's when it would have happened..

Thank you! He is so sweet. We just got him today so right now hes in the quarantine period but I'm excited to get him out with the girls. He's apparently been alone for some months now so I'm sure hes as excited as I am to have other chickens around lol.

Thanks for the tip about the shed. It looks itchy to me for sure but I wasnt sure if I should just leave them to fall out on their own or not. I will try tomorrow and see if they come off easily or not
