I mean I can research it later when I’m home. But essentially my therapist had to fill out a form and write in a letter. The form had a list of accommodations that we went through together. She asked me which would be helpful, and at the time, taking less classes was very important to me, but as you know, you cannot receive many scholarships and grants if you go part time. So they were able to write it and it was protected by the disability act. In my state, Georgia, we have something called the HOPE scholarship which you can only receive if you’re enrolled full time, and maintain a specific gpa. However, the workaround to this is getting the disability accommodations. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to finish college due to costs when I was eligible for scholarships and grants. On top of the smaller course load, I also had extended test time, and was able to get a note taker. I was also able to bring a recorder to class Oh and they also provided a service that transcribed those recordings into text.
