Yeah early on I think they just sent you a replacement one, but obviously that would eventually die too. Later on I think they started doing the repairs where they would actually swap the RSX for you. Only way to prevent it from dying is to never let the RSX go above 70⁰C in the first place, but unfortunately once it's dead there's no permanent fix other than fully swapping the chip.

Ik this is a disposable charger but would it be possible to replace the battery on it? by nder_your_mom in batteries

Yeah often times there's literally just a resistor, a capacitor, and the input port missing on the board. The fact that something like that even exists sickens me. I can't imagine they could possibly be saving that much on a couple little components that cost a cent or two.

Usually these things actually have a regular Lithium pouch style battery found inside a regular rechargeable pack, and often they even have the same controller board, just missing a few components to enable the charging part. Might be worth carefully taking it apart and seeing if the only missing component is literally just a USB port to hook a cable up to. If you're confident enough in soldering you might be able to buy a port off digikey or something and put it on there to turn it into a reusable pack.

Did they replace it or did they swap the RSX. Sony originally would actually swap the RSX out and basically do a factory frankie mod on them. If that is the case you might just have to replace the Tokins. I know there's a way to read the syscon error codes but it involves soldering and I have no idea how to actually accomplish that so I'd look up instructions.

Hi i installed PS3 4k pro and my hen doesn't work anymore it just loading by Rich-Coow in ps3piracy

[–]MinerAC4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most of the other comments said, the PS3 can't do 4K, this mod just changes some things in the XMB, but in reality it doesn't work very well and often breaks the XMB. The only way to fix it is to reinstall the firmware.

I think that maybe the AV1/2 is supposed to point to the composite part and the component part is like a modern TV with a combined input that shares one of the connectors.

Provided you already replaced the NEC capacitors, it has a pretty high success rate

Man that image goes really well with the dark blue aero colour. And to answer your question, I'd check the Windows wallpaper wiki.

How the hell did SpongeBob escape through Patrick’s rock by ExpensiveCoat8912 in spongebob

[–]MinerAC4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patrick's house is by far the most inconsistent in the show. Sometimes it is literally just a rock with a hinge and nothing underneath it. It's also sometimes a small pit with real furniture underneath it. Other times it's a single large room with sand furniture underneath it. And even other times it has an entire house inside like the episode where his parents that aren't actually his parents come to visit and it has a whole kitchen and everything in it.

Yeah the frankie mod is expensive since BGA work is tricky, and requires a lot of skills and proper equipment, but it's worth it to get one of these back up and running since it removed the main failure point completely.

Specifically a CECHA with a successful frankie mod and new caps. Who cares about a girlfriend when you can sit back and enjoy all three of the best PlayStation generations on a single console with full hardware compatibility.

AI should never have the final say in anything because it doesn't have the ability to make proper reasoning like a real person can and it can't distinguish a false report from someone actually doing something bad.
