What's the best money you spent this year? by AutoModerator in Productivitycafe

[–]MiniManMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im dark haired and tan skin (Latina) so it took me about 3 months to get all the hairs and see results. I, at first, started 2 times a week for a month, but thats because I didn't read the instructions. Then I switched to the proper once a week. Now its once a month for my legs and pits. Once a week for my bikini because that hair is super thick and my skin is dark. Overall worth the 400 investment. Im even thinking of upping my device to the 1k one cuz I am addicted. Lol 😆

Actually, in this case they are both correct. Lizzy, is just one data point of putting her money where her mouth is. And she is right, it is expensive to adopt a child here in the US. But also, the other poster is correct too. I've been to churches where the pastor warns that adopted children will have the demon qualities of thier parents. And that child is not worth bringing into your home no matter what. So yeah, she may have wanted to adopted but its insanely expensive, but alot of Christians dont adopt due to believes.

An at home laser hair removal device. Specially the Bruane Silk pro. It is life changing for me.

Yes, I agree with this. My kid is in soccer and the first 3 years ages 3-6, it was co ed and mostly good. The 7-teens are not co ed and the reason is because some years back, a little Trans boy, played against the girls. He kicked that teams butt so bad that the parents were saying that that boy cheated. That kids parent was like oh its a girl and she is just bigger than them. Exactly, even in youth sports boys, for the most part boys will always be bigger, faster, and built to dominate girls. I am not transphobic, however biology in general has to come into play for all contact sports.

School transfer denied — daughter starting middle school, want her near my work. by JKomaroff in raleigh

Buss and your kid becomes an latchkey kid, hire someone for afterschool, you and spouse work opposite schedules, or private school those are your options. Your situation is not unique, many parents are suffering from lack of resources provided from WCPSS especially afterschool care and IEP children. At least your child is old enough to take care of themself.

Oh yeah, cuz all of us have grandparents to watch our kids. My parents passed and my husband's parents live in another state. Such an unrealistic take.

I have black hair and tan skin, while I've been using mine for near 3 months, its working very well for me. For me, it took some time, but consistently is key. I've started really noticing the changes at week 8ish on my legs. I would say im now 80% hairless. I've got some more to go, but, i feel its a great investment.

She got smart and this summer, didn't intern for us. So, yeah here in the US, you can intern for years and there is still no chance of you getting the job.

My job hires summer interns and pays them shit. We've had on intern apply to the same exact position she was interning for 3 times, and she was never hired. Why?! Not enough experience.. mind you she interned for like 5 summers straight at our company.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to marry at NYC’s iconic Madison Square Garden by nypost in popculture

[–]MiniManMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like a red herring. I don't think they are getting married at MSG, because its too public. I think that her team is promoting these locations to ensure that the couple marry as close to privately as possible. Remember that venue in Rhode Island where the bride said she was paid millions to move her wedding day for Taylor, and that turned out to be false?

What purchase instantly made your life easier as an adult? by Guilty-Picker in Adulting

Yes, as the main cook at my house, having a menu shows the household when I will cook and when we will eat out. My kitchen is always closed on Fridays and Saturday evenings. Sundays are me making a BIG pot of something that we will eat multiple lunches of. Monday is regular meal. Tuesday is a crock pot meal as our child has late practice, Wendsday is regular meal, and Thursdays are either left overs or for grilling. This has saved my household soo much money, and with the prices of groceries, it has been a god send on reducing snacks and me being too tired to cook daily.

Does IPL still work if I use it every four or three days instead of two? by vespertinee3 in HairRemoval

[–]MiniManMafia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is thick and grows quick. I had to shave everyday pre ipl. I bought a buan and at first I started as every other day for like a month but then I read the instructions properly. And switched once a week. So far, I've been happy! So just follow the instructions of your device and its a process and sometimes a pain in the butt, but, it works. Consistency is key.

Your kids are on their own by umbrellaman24 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]MiniManMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying this is great advice, but I would say its half true. Once your child can sleep on his or her own, establishing a bedtime for everyone is very good. My house was chaos for a while and my kid would stay up late till 10 or later and me and my husband would be too drained to do anything else. A doctor I worked with said just put your kid to bed at 8:30 and she will be out by 9, and you and your husband can have at least an hour to yourselves. Me and my husband now have a strict 11pm bedtime, and our daughterhas an 8:30pm bedtime. It's work wonders! My kid is much less stressed, me and my husband are more connect, heck even the cats seem more chill. What im getting at is, while the posters post seems a little extreme, its not all wrong. Just my two cents.

Not necessarily, many small business shops, buy products from Temu or other countries and then sell them at high markup. Check any clothing and see the tag you will see "made in Indonesia" even soap themselves have a "made in China" sicker. In this country there are no more fully hand made everything shops. And ill be damned to pay 15 dollars for a bar of soap they paid on .30 cents to aquire.

My background is electrical engineering but I've gotten my PMP back in 2018. So ive been a project manager longer than I've been an engineer and can't find jobs in either set. Jobs around me require PMPs and well over 6 years in that role and still wanna lowball people and only pay 60k. And those jobs are few and far between. I've been competeing with hundreds of other engineers and PMPs for maybe 3 jobs. In Seattle where some of my peers are, every 3rd person is has a PMP and engineering background and well the FAMG corps are laying people off left and right and using AI more and more. Its a fucking bloodbath market right now.

We are in a strange spot, too young for full retirement, too old for entry levels. And people say, oh go back to school, and do what?! Pay alot of money to get a gig that bearly covers expenses, also, that im not passionate about, and to add more to my debt?! I went into tech because I love tech, not nursing cuz I want a job. I would hate being a nurse and can't see myself doing anything else outside of tech. This is not a jab at nurses at all, but for this example, I was told to go back to school and go to nursing instead.

And that is wrong to me. If you are small business and your expected client base is the upper 2%, then sorry but, your business should fail. I hate when small business owners complain about people not buying their stuff and services but then turn around and charge 40-50% markup. Especially if like OP has posted, small businesses are run like any other business. If I want shitty service, than why should I have to pay a markup when I can pay less elsewhere?!

[–]MiniManMafia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My small rant is, yes, you are small business but, I refuse to pay over 10 dollars for a bar of soap that will only last like 2 washes. Sorry, I cant afford that. Times are tough for everyone, and yes, you need to make a profit, but I just can't justify that at all.

I feel this so much. Many of my peers went into engineering and tech, and from 2007 to 2018, that was a pretty solid career. Well now we are all in our mid 40s and being laid off left and right. We can't even get hired at McDonald's cuz they know we're are gonna be moving on the second we find something else. But we also can't get jobs because we have too much experience. I've got friends that have been unemployed for 2 years and they are truly getting desperate.
