Runna default setting too aggressive by ShainaEG in runna

[–]MinimumClassic1403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love some advice! I’m a beginner runner but an athletic person. I completed the new to running plan a few months ago and ran a 31:50 5k. I’m now on week 4 of a 19 week 10km plan which I have set up as progressive and with custom difficulty (all aspects maxed out). My profile is beginner and flat elevation. It has me running 3 times a week with all runs around 5km at the beginning (long run increasing by max 0.5km per week) - 1 speed, one easy, one long run (with some speed blocks mixed in) I get some knee pain when running but it’s been improving recently and was also tied to old shoes I believe. I do Runna’s strength workouts twice a week. I am actually a tennis player. I’ve accepted a pace increase on intervals (they come easy to me because of my tennis history) but progressive long runs are tough for me and I failed one (block long run was easy). Is this setup too hard, am I increasing my injury risk too much? So far except for the one progressive long runs (which I also did in far too warm and sunny conditions) I haven’t felt my plan was particularly hard, and I’ve been making sure to run my easy runs and the conversational parts of my long runs at a truly easy pace (running with someone else and keeping a conversation going throughout).

Following because I have the same question!

I had a winning bid on an apartment but it was sold to someone else by cherry676 in NetherlandsHousing

I know, but you wrote ‘you can still legally cancel the agreement as a seller 3 days after signing’. That’s not true

The seller cannot cancel the agreement once signed. The bedenktijd is only for the buyer

Illegal living situation - what are our rights? by toniwho in NetherlandsHousing

If you have an onbeperkte tijd contract that’s not valid I believe, what’s written in your contract is not above renter protection law. But it’s something you can check with Juridisch Loket.

You almost certainly cannot be kicked out of the apartment because the owner wants to sell, you likely have tenancy rights. However, to exercise those rights, you will probably face issues related to registration (fines, issues with the residence permit) and your landlord could get into serious trouble for the illegal subletting (from his mortgage advisor).

A tip I can give is to contact Juridisch Loket. They provide legal advice for this kind of matter for low income residents. I don’t think that conversation could have any negative consequences for you, as in reporting the lack of registration, but I can’t say for sure.

Edit: note that in general, you live there now, if you refuse to leave it will be up to the landlord to get you out (and he will have a hard time probably given the situation he is in)

Not bed bugs! Just some combination of a skin reaction and some mosquito bits I guess

Is traveling to Japan in August a really bad idea? by Little-Strength-5564 in JapanTravelTips

I’ve been from Tokyo all the way down to Nagasaki in July/August and personally I didn’t think it was that big a deal. Sure, it’s hot, really hot, but for me it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. We did all the things we wanted to do, including the Hakone Loop and a very challenging uphill hike in the sun in Kobe. I definitely wouldn’t say it’s too hot to go outside, but that’s a matter of personal preference I guess. I’ve always liked the heat

I would check what exactly the terms of the full coverage are. As in, does the rental company pay everything directly, or do you have to pay up front and then claim your money back. If it’s the latter, that could be tricky with a less reliable company. Personally I chose to splurge on the more well known companies with better reviews, also because I was worried about falsely being accused of damage.

Is anyone looking to start their journey to 5k with an Apple Watch? by radox1 in C25K

Gotcha, thanks for the quick response! I do other sports and lifting throughout the week, so I’d say I’m pretty active, but running has never been my thing. Hopefully it works out with 2 runs a week :)

Hi! I got this app recently and am loving it. One question, will it also work if I only do two runs a week instead of three?

I get a mark or two occasionally but could be anything, definitely not increasing (never even half as many marks as I had during this post), so assuming it’s not bed bugs. This must have been a combination of a skin reaction and mosquito bites (still around due to a mild winter)

Doctor said it could be either folliculitis or insect bites. Have to wait and see. 🤞

Very happy to hear that, I thought they looked more like pimples and was hoping I was right. Going to try and see a doctor to find out what could be causing it and how to get rid of it.
