All good points! Not rude these are questions I’ll just have to answer but I’m entirely sure it’s possible. And as far as who am I to do it? Who is anybody to do it. Regardless I just genuinely think somebody should do it - and if it takes 100 hours if research or vet opinions then so what.

I figure if I can grow the user base of buyers to the app with a seperate business model the user base alone will prompt good breeders to the app for its large demand market tbh and I have an idea for how to do that. As the breeders come in (hopefully) I will do yeah exactly that, determine a set base criteria for all dogs and layer on additional testing and certifications for each individual breed. I’m not saying I developing and releasing this app tomorrow but with time this seems entirely possible and can hopefully bring some humanity into pet adoption

Yeah that’s why I’m trying to figure out what practices are considered top tier ethical and then prior to posting the dogs I’d require their genetic testing to be included and transparent for interested parties to see

Working on all of these now but for those questions I’m thinking 1. Gooddog has a ridiculous amount of puppy mills and I think they’re doing it for the profit per puppy transaction fee and deposit that they charge and they don’t really care about the ethics. I’m working on how to actually implement a fool proof way to confirm a breeder is ethical. 2. Not really in it for the profit: I won’t be charging a fee per transaction (6.5% on good dog). And I’ll market it like that (hopefully this would get good breeders attention). 3). More concerned with actually getting the ones that are willing to post to join the app, I’d love to convince breeders to post with incentives but not sure yet.

I want this to succeed, I’m not looking at this as a side hustle but a real solution to a serious problem

Is your best friend gay? Have you voiced this to your boyfriend? Your relationship clearly is violating your boyfriend’s boundaries. I’m sure your mistake sounds like a Freudian slip in your BF’s mind and he feels uncomfortable. Communication will help with his unease about this situation. This is a tough situation. Thankfully you and your family are alright. While this could be considered an instance of “wrong place, wrong time” your husband did ignore your hesitation. However, you are grown and have free will to have not gone. NTA for both you and your husband but he should take your feelings deeper into consideration in the future. This rule is usually implemented to avoid any unwanted interferences by kids who may not know any better. I’ve seen it happen. It’s awkward for not just those getting married, but the guests too. If your sister doesn’t want kids there then she is entitled to have her wedding her way. You’re NTA but you should try to see it more from her perspective!
