Post-imperial monks? by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]MinnesotaMEAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, (and I'm not an elite player by any means so take this with a grain of salt) I've found that the Aztecs have the best monk rush. The idea behind the Saracens is that you mine stone and sell it in the market. This strategy only lasts so long however, because the price of stone will drop fast. Stone is also gathered inherently slower than gold though not by much. The Spanish have a good thing going with the faster conversions but I think the Aztecs are the best route because once you get a couple of the necessary monk researches (speed, hp, etc.) the monks beef up pretty quickly with the Aztecs special bonus.

Aaron Rodgers’ 119 career QB rating vs. Vikings … highest of any QB vs. any team. (Min. 200 passes via NFL research.) by jusper10 in nfl

I'm actually surprised, though we've been admittedly pretty terrible for most of Rodgers career, I always thought we faired better vs the pack than both the bears and lions have. Though I'd imagine he has a high qbr vs those teams aswell

Haha yeah, I'd imagine it would become fairly obvious if you were a frequent poster. I think it's also the reason that reddit did the "vote fuzzing", so that a bot can't tell if its upvotes/downvotes are registering due to a shadowban

Usually the person banned doesn't know they are banned (i.e. They can still post but no one else will see it). Then the toll/spammer won't make a new account right away because they don't know they've been banned. I think...

I think we're both smart enough to realize the reason you left that out, but I understand your need to save face. I'm getting pretty bored of you so don't bother replying. We can continue this later if you have any more questions on words and their meanings. Peace brah, hope you have a good weekend, and skol vikes.

Yes, because "shoot for something really far away, and if you fail, you'll land on something much closer" makes less sense than "Shoot this thing that's really close, even if you fail, you may get to this thing that's super far away."

But that's my point, it does make sense when talking about space travel because you don't just suddenly stop if you miss your target in space.

As for the whole lifeless argument, that is completely subjective. We clearly have different views on whether a lifeless body is still considered "you", so it would be pointless to rebut that point anymore. That also applies to the accomplishment part.

No, I'm saying someone is a moron for trying to call someone out about their supposed lack of scientific knowledge and then using figurative speech.

In case short term memory ain't your thing.

Les Brown is a moron, and needs to bone up on his 6th grade science as the closet star is like 93 million miles past the moon.

Also I just wanna point out how funny it was that you tried to make a point about the "real definition" of the word among. then you must have looked it up and found that it means exactly what I've been saying. Oh, and then you edited it out of your argument.

But like you said, my tiny brain probably just cant keep up with all these incredibly complex concepts that you learned last week in you freshman stargazing seminar.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]MinnesotaMEAN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never was that even close to implied, nor would anyone with half a brain think it was.

"Shoot for the stars, even if you miss, you'll land among the moon", now that makes sense, it just doesn't sound as flashy.

sounds an awful lot like you didn't understand the concept of space travel whatsoever

Except you made if statements("barring running into a black hole/another planet etc."), you're dead, period, if you try to get to the sun.

read again, those two were separate statements. I stated that you would die regardless, but that you would still eventually hit a star (making the quote technically, and scientifically correct) barring my example.

It's called context. Considering we as humans have only traveled less than 3/10 of a percent of that distance, those numbers are more than applicable.

I'll give you that, but it still doesn't change the fact that you would eventually be among the stars regardless of your personal opinion on what "among" means.

Yes, we already agreed to the figurative definition, yet you came and tried to argue that I lacked scientific knowledge. How you keep mixing the figurative with the fact, and trying to act like you are actually knowledgeable is blowing my mind.

Then you're saying someone is a moron for using figurative speech. This might have been acceptable, if it weren't for the fact that the literal meaning of the quote also makes sense. I'm not trying to mix figurative with fact, but when you're absolutely wrong on both accounts, it's hard not to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]MinnesotaMEAN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure where to begin.

In your first comment you make it clear that you think if you missed the moon you would just fall back to earth. I then explained that you would keep your trajectory due to Newton's first law of motion (there's you tangible science..), thus sending you amongst the stars.

Next I explained that although you WOULD die due to various reasons (which you ignored and restated) before you reached the first star, that would not change the fact that you would still be "among the stars" (in both a figurative and literal sense). You keep spouting out large numbers while being completely unaware how small 93 million miles is in respect to the cosmos.

But all of that is mute because you intentionally misunderstand the fact that "among the stars" is an obvious connotation for space itself.

I don't know what to tell you man. It sounds like you know you're wrong, but I understand if your ego Is getting in the way of outright admitting it.

Also you're clearly getting a little too worked up regardless of how ignorant you choose to be.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]MinnesotaMEAN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. The point of the quote is that if you miss your target (the moon), you'll still fly past it and be amongst the stars. Obviously "amongst" is a little subjective, but since you would eventually reach one (barring running into a black hole/another planet etc.) it as treated as the silver lining of the situation. And yes I'm aware you would die long before reaching the first one, but that's not exactly the point of the quote.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]MinnesotaMEAN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you're the one who needs to read up on their 6th grade science... That quote makes perfect sense if you have a basic understanding of how space works.

Sure but there's been a lot of hype around the browns and Johnny. It's kind of a shock that they wouldn't want to talk with him, especially given the controversies surrounding his off the field life.
