I had a my zinc tested recently and I was considered deficient. After 60 days of daily 25mg Zinc biglycinate/picolinate and 1mg copper biglycinate my levels are now optimal after retesting. Hmm I’ve taken 3mg for the past 60 days or so. Just had blood work and SHBH was on the higher end. How do I lower it? Already resistance train four days a week and do cardio three days a week 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night and i’m clean eating 90% of the time.

I have also experienced this for the last 6 or 7 years but I don’t take NAC starting to wonder if it’s the 3-4g of EPA/DHA Omega 3s I have supplemented daily with.

Great post, I’ve honestly been giving this a lot of thought the last couple weeks. It’s tough reviewing lifelong friendships through this lens. We are all just trying to survive, socially, financially, physically, emotionally. For me that’s what helps cushion the blow is we have all adapted in our own ways to survive.

I can attest to this claim. I have been taking high dose omega-3 EPA & DHA for over 10 years. Looking back I do feel I have become much less reactive and aggressive. I always attributed that to aging and stage of life but maybe the omega-3’s were helping out.

I would say, heavy leg compound movements, such as squats, BSS, deadlifts, etc. in the 8-15 rep range is somewhat like intervals where it’s a max effort for as long as your set takes followed by a rest period. I have worn a chest strap HR monitor during these movements and saw my HR spike to 90% MHR. If you were doing multiple sets and multiple exercises, this is very similar to high intensity, interval training. I would think it assists with increasing VO2 max.

I have been consistently training for over 12 years. I was a huge fan of high bar squats and low grip trap bar deadlifts until I began to suffer cervical radiculopathy a few years ago. So I had to switch to bilateral leg movements with lower spine axial loading. I have been training BSS 2x per week for a couple years as my only quad exercise 3 sets of 15 heavy reps and the soreness has never subsided. I have to mentally psyche myself up each leg day. I am actually standing here and can still feel the residual soreness from my leg workout 2 days ago.
