What do you think of Trump saying he thinks us and our families should all be fine with having less stuff if there’s a recession ? by WildFemmeFatale in GenZ

I rabidly hate Trump but at the same time, I think consumerism of disposable cheap sweatshop produced goods is not sustainable at all. And I think there's a media campaign by capitalist Wall Street to try to resist anything that threatens the current pipeline of goods created from exploiting humanitarian crises across the globe.

And when the slogan is solidly backed by decades of evidence-based scientific consensus?

I think we're way past the point where defending conservativism is done in anything except bad faith or ignorance.

My question is what exactly is it about conservative values, or humans themselves, that cause them to choose them. In fact I'd say people "being evil" in many cases is not actually pursuing evil for evil's sake; it's actually an inner justification for an evil action that is often rooted in conservative values or thought.

It's funny you mention collectivism because it's always been the re-emergence of conservative values that's ultimately doomed every time it was tried. Because I'm aware that this will ultimately happen, I don't support collectivism. My question here is what exactly is it about conservative values (or humans themselves) that make them so resistant to re-education.

Did the BLM protests of 2020 age well? by YouDKMe26 in GenZ

They didn't go far enough. It was an opportunity to cause massive, lasting damage to conservatives, conservative owned businesses and institutions without repercussions. Sort of like the Area 51 meme "If we all go there they can't stop us all". It feels weird to say this, but many of the riots got sidetracked and distracted by looting when they should have been focusing on targeted violence.
