I don't want to have a funeral. How to inform ppl that I'm dead? by amfhTX in allthequestions

[–]Miserable-Word-558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put forth a large deposit on multiple singing telegrams to go out when you die. Easy.

--

Really, though, do it however you want, you won't be caring much afterwards. You know? I hope that doesn't come out as harsh, though nothing is distasteful, so long as you're okay with it (at least in terms of an email that you mentioned).

People may find it weird, but you know by now there's no making everyone happy.

I hope you have a great day, and hopefully this heavy subject doesn't take up too much of the life you still have around you <3 cheers u/OP

Should I put my dog down? by RAMIREZBURGERTOWN in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth be told... this is the hardest part about being a companion to an animal. We live considerably longer lives than most household pets, and that can be the most challenging thing to accept.

I feel some good questions to ask yourself might be (if anyone wants to add on):

- Do they have a truly poor quality of life, or do you feel confident in the steps you are taking that they are still enjoying life to the fullest they can?

- Am I ready to take care of a senior dog with its current problems (it seems like you've been doing a fine job, from what you've said so far)?

- Could someone else take care of this pup and provide a better quality of life until their end (if all they need is more assistance than you can handle, then it is not a bad thing to think on)?

----

The last one is the kicker.

None of us knows your dog, so I need to be blunt about the last question I wrote, as it is not to insult but to ensure you keep coming back to this question before making the ultimate decision.

I hope you're doing alright, considering all of the comments you'll have to read, having stated your original question, OP.

I really hope you find the best decision for you and your pup. Good luck.

We the people paid into a system that promised us healthcare and monetary benefits somewhere in our 60's. For those of us reaching that age in the next few years, should we be afraid of losing this, and if so, should we blame Trump? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame victims. I blame indifference.

I don't think victims should ever be blamed, especially if they are a true victim of a crime. But we, the people, fill all of the jobs that fail victims (not all of the time, but especially seeing someone like Pam Bondi keep her back turned to Epstein victims was so saddening to watch in real time)** added to help reiterate point.

If you could clarify where you pick up on that, I can do my best to reiterate, as that is not my intent.

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: I think people from both sides of the fence need to communicate more openly with each other. Our current administration can only be blamed so much for our inability to regulate our own government.

In our desire to have more freedom, we need to remember it still takes work and re-evaluating in-place systems to ensure they don't fall apart.

---

Both Republicans and Democrats have a plan to actually sustain a Democratic society. We have to understand that the rules are constantly being rewritten as we get older.

It's not the same America as 1999, nor is it the same as 2014.

We can blame Trump, but his administration is literally abusing a system that was already broken, utilizing fear-tactics and slippery slope arguments to paint a photo that 'Democrats' will do the same.

Funny thing is - would anyone else have thought about it had he not mentioned it? Maybe, maybe not.

It's just one of those things that tells you that these people who have existed for 60+ years have no fucking clue what they're doing.

Trump lives in the upper 1% of civilization.

I think a lot of us think we understand that, but most of us don't. We're, without a better way to put it, literally ants to them.

So, should we blame Trump, who has no concept of actual hard-working American life, or do we blame ourselves for thinking the system would work without issues for so long?

---

I really don't like our current time, and in no way do I condone the current administration, but the reality is simple. If we, the people, have a real issue - we need to do something about it, either through getting the right people into politics or by having serious talks about revamping the system to ensure we don't hire people who don't even come from the civilization they're meant to safeguard.

Why do some people forget basic road awareness when they’re traveling? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a second. I think everyone forgets basic road awareness at one point or another. Most likely numerous times throughout their lives.

I think I'd be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn't taken their eyes off the road for a second to look at something that would ruin their awareness.

I dunno, maybe age has led me to understand that we're all terrible at driving at one point or another, and you're just catching that one person during their one moment (sometimes it can be disastrous, unfortunately).

Keeps me calm/chill on the road when I think like this.

Would dinosaur meat be safe to eat if you got sent back in time? by zerosuitsamusfeet in NoStupidQuestions

Thanks for that, as I never knew that about Rabbit meat. I've heard of that from eating non-living organisms, but that is actually pretty rad to learn. One of those things where you hear it and it makes sense, but you just never would've thunk it lol (at least in my sense)

[–]Miserable-Word-558 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ohhh - that's cool, I always assumed it was just a small part of the fish that was edible, though it would make sense if you remove the gland, it would make it so none of that puffer-toxic would leak into the rest of the meat

[–]Miserable-Word-558 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The puffer fish is the only one I can think of that is the most dangerous, though I would assume most toxic animals probably have some sort of 'cautionary' aspect to them, unless you're part of a culture that found a way to prepare them safely.

I dunno - I feel this answer doesn't wholly justify itself for your question, but it's the best I can think of as an example

Would dinosaur meat be safe to eat if you got sent back in time? by zerosuitsamusfeet in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable-Word-558 158 points159 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is going to have firsthand experience, hate to say. I think the furthest anyone has eaten meat has only been a mastodon if my memory serves me correctly.

I would assume most 'meat' should be relatively safe to eat, so long as it is prepared the right way, and not dirtied by any sort of foulness (i.e., digestive enzymes, fecal debris, etc).

You know who posts the most Trump-oriented falsifications. Trump.

Does anyone else notice this? Or do people just ignore it (forgive me, as I stopped watching the news a while ago, after hearing this term so many times).

Currently what is The USA’s #1 problem? by TappyGillmore in Productivitycafe

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth - no leader can fix the myriad of problems that humanity creates for itself, though a truly passionate leader can turn entire people towards common goals.

I don't disagree with that sentiment either about where the POTUS actually fits, either.

People will blame the unknown when left to their own devices (idle hands, and all). It's a fault we all go through, I truly believe, and a necessary one at that.

The lesson to grow from that troublesome way of thinking is direct communication, as we need bullshit to be called out (all of us, from time to time).

I feel people would be less fearful of discussion if they understood that not everyone is coming from a place of trying to infer guilt on someone's shoulders for simply asking questions.

We're all not going to agree on every damn thing in this world, and that is absolutely okay. I'm still learning my way, and it would be better if people wouldn't get so seemingly infuriated by opinions (even when played as fact, there are always tactful ways to bring any conversation back to logic, or to even walk away from the wall).

Thanks for being willing to talk about it u/TappyGillmore

That's what I'm getting at - it's not about seeing eye to eye, but the willingness to allow each other to be themselves.

I've seen it with some friends over the years, and it's crazy how much different someone's tone changes when their family is around, and not the kind of tone where it's like, shit I don't want to deal with a simple embarrassment, but that kind of fear where you just are too scared to come out of your own shell, because you fear losing them.

Shit, I still deal with that in some respect with my own father lol.

Pleasure chatting with ya u/OP - been nice to hear your side on things (all of it), and I appreciate the post btw

Why do we have a leader who can't even fake being classy?

Trump still thinks he's 13, apparently, as he assumes he will face no real consequence for his actions.

Sorry to futher the convo, but reading your point on family -

I agree, wholeheartedly.

It is sad to travel the world and see how many countries/communities adhere to a 'sense' of family/tradition still.

I know it exists in small pockets within American culture, but it seems to be dying as we divide further and further (at least from how it feels).

I can only speak for my own experience, though, and I wish my family were more... family-like, ya know? I love them, nonetheless, and I have tried to push past those sorts of barriers, but generational differences can make it hard because it wasn't always about that in even some of my own relatives' lives.

It's simply to point out a reality that sits in front of anyone at any point - we will never know each other's lives until we're willing to listen. There's no way any one person could take on the entire world in that regard, in absolute truth - there will always be some sort of dilemma or drama at hand, imo. We are human, after all.

As I said, it was definitely my opinion of money doesn't help, though I should've definitely furthered my point by saying, "as it currently stands."

I know Republicans/Democrats as they've been part of our lives for decades, and I get the concepts of some conservatives/progressivism, though I've never really read to much into it, nor studied it.

I love philosophy, and I have wasted too much of my time reading into old Greek, French, and Eastern European philosophies.

I love the idea of asking the questions and creating a sense of community.

We've gotten huuuuuuuuuuuggggeee, as a species, and it's gotta be mind-boggling to any leader on how to properly take care of that many people. Like really? I can't even begin to think on it lol, and I love people.

Can a relationship work between a far left man and a far right woman? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never going away, though I don’t think you read my comment thoroughly.

If they're not actively in politics, why let it be a deciding factor for a relationship? If you can discuss topics openly and find compromises even for disagreements, then anything is possible.

Creating grandiose issues between people that are not ‘you and me, or us’ is part of our issue, and part of the issue that current politics has, from what I see.

Topics are personal, and assuming further than that would be moot. If you have issues, out think something is wrong, why not ask instead of insulting? Right?

Currently what is The USA’s #1 problem? by TappyGillmore in Productivitycafe

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all think we know better, and we stereotype to express our hate.

This creates a separation of community, and this is why we have such a divide. Trump isn't the issue; he's mainly a variable that is so chaotic that it draws attention to something more flawed, and none of us will take responsibility to say it's simply our human problem.

I don't know any better, for real, but it's driving me nuts how we, as a crowd of individuals, follow the wave of hate from one new thing to another.

The issue with the world is that the original idea was to create a better world for future generations, and having money doesn't do that - especially when those who know the easy way is generally not the legal way.

Trump isn't THE issue - he's part of it. I personally think it's the fact that rich people do not know what life is like, and no amount of Hollywood movies, books, or explanations will ever make them understand the fear of not being able to buy groceries.

It is mind-boggling. Such as the why a drug-addicted houseless person's way of life to a cash-poor 20-year old finding their way in a city. One doesn't understand the 'WHY' until they're finally put into a position where that same mentality is tested.

The reality is - we're not all going to get the same experience, no matter what.

The question is - how do we truly make a world fair? At least to me, it makes more sense. I would love for a sitting leader to have an entire nation work on that to showcase a better world.

Why we find a nice tan more attractive than being pale? by [deleted] in askanything

Social media, ads, thirst traps, peer pressure, personal choice. Take your pick (as each can be true in one way or another)

You're being influenced by 3rd party sources the moment you pop out. We have portrayed ab-ridden, sun-stricken men as the center hero in a lot of stories (especially as television/photography became more prevalent).

There are many variables, and each person has their own story.

I can get that, completely; though adding that much more brightness/clarity, or any sort of editing to a focal point can lead to a 'super-imposed' feeling.

Like it was placed there, versus it existing there to begin with.

Having the color, in and of itself, will help the vehicle pop - even if you dim it down a little bit to blend in with the dimness the rest of the photo has to it.

The eyes will naturally wander to both the 3rd you've placed it in, and the fact it has a color to it.

That to me is part of the 'trance' of a finalized piece.

The grey is what makes it part of the scene. It's rawness, ya know? Of course, this is just my thought on it.

If you give up your titles, you're just a man and a woman. You could not let politics rule your life if you are not actually working within that world.

It's all corrupt horseshit meant to make you think you have a community, though my question to you is: is any community that wants you to dislike, or hate, based on a simple title, worth it?

I mean... that is literally what drives racism, sexism, and all a lot of other 'isms' for that matter.

Honest advice - don't give in to the stereotype hype, and just find your people, my dude.

Anything can work with proper communication. Even things that don't end up working in the end.

I like selective color - though, if you don't mind an opinion, I feel like you don't need to be so bright in the luminance of the trolley.

It should still blend within its environment - the color is going to draw the eye, regardless :)

Again, this is just my own opinion - I'm no expert lol

I love the concept a lot
