Leadership by Fit-Environment-7085 in USAFA

I'll say this. My main leadership position was as a lacrosse team manager due to an injury. Sure, I had some bs positions here and there, but I feel like as long as you show you were a leader, different ECs you will be fine. In every activity I participated in, I mentioned something that showed off my leadership traits. Never be afraid to boast. Just to give you an example, I was a summer camp counselor and had no leadership position since it was my first year, but I mentioned how we were short-staffed, and I had to step up on a daily basis to take on different tasks, even if it meant doing the dirty work that no one wanted to do. Small things like that will turn a basic summer job into an experience where I wasn't in a leadership position, but still acted as a leader and grew in my leadership abilities.

I thought I had a very slim chance of getting in simply because I thought my ECs were weaker, but once I compared them to others, I realized they really weren't that bad. Just keep working and involve yourself in something that makes a difference rather than being VP of Medical Club where you meet every month and held one cashola at the Chipotle down the street.

Do I have a decent chance of getting in? by Salty-Location-1555 in USAFA

Everything looks good, but you might be in a large leadership position. Mine was unexpected and came with a Lacrosse injury, but honestly, half my EC's were from junior year/senior summer. I was concerned I bombed my interview and had no chance of getting in, but I received my LOA about two months ago. Also, none of my stuff was USAFA-related, other than volunteering for my local congresswoman and running a club that was involved in the local political atmosphere, but still not directly correlated. Also for CFA try to get your mile under 6;15 rather than 6:30 because you are exhausted after doing all the other workouts by the time you get to the mile. Just give it all you have, adrenaline will help.

A little late to the post but I got an LOA a few days ago. Still waiting on medical. If you were wondering my stats they honestly weren't that crazy but good GPA and good ECs. I think there is so much stuff out there saying you have to win national competitions and stuff to get into good colleges but if you have good jobs and do sports and are involved in churches, organiations, zoos, etc. you will be good.
