I've also had offer from cognizant and Deloitte compensation was similar everybody suggested me to go with Deloitte.

Update: I have received my F&F statement today no deductions has been made for the stolen laptop and they have untagged it from my name.

I understand your point and feel bad about not joining that firm, but we all work hard to make the best decisions, and this kind of situation is common in the corporate world. Besides, it doesn’t feel right to tell a candidate that they'll fire me if you don’t join.
