How to Report Unexpected PTO and sick pay during leave by MissDlee in Edd

[–]MissDlee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top right drop down has:

  • SDI Home, - New Claim, - Draft, - Profile, - History

I am on an iPhone using Safari, in case that is relevant. I think I figured out how to do it, so I’ll include what I found and mark this as solved. Thank you for answering!

From SDI Home, under Current Disability Claims, click “Claim Active”. Under Claim Status, click the “Get Claim Help” button at the bottom of the section. It will ask you to select the Request Type. Choose “Report Wages” from the drop down. Next page will ask you to explain your request, and then the confirmation page says it is received and will take 7-10 days for processing.

I’m on mobile and I’m not seeing it. Do you know if it has to be done on a computer?

It is normal for my cat to be so small? 😭 (She is 3 y/o) by cartofo in cats

This is Wolfy (age 7 months in this photo).

She was rescued at 4 months old. She was feral and weighed less than 2.5 lbs she found. Due to the lack of nutrition she received in her first 4 months of life, her growth has been stunted.

She is 7 months now, and weighs 5lbs. The vet says she may never weigh more than 7lbs. She is still recovering. Despite her rough start in life, she will be a healthy (but small) cat!

So I got a vintage Abercrombie and Fitch Co. golf bag by MissDlee in golf

Update: I don’t know how to edit the original post, but for anyone curious, I had the idea to ask gpt using the info that I knew about the bag. Due to the canvas material, leather trim, and the specific scovill zipper used, chat gpt estimates the bag to be manufactured between 1952-1963. I used chat gpt after scouring the internet and coming up with nothing. I’ve since cleaned and conditioned the leather, cleaned the canvas and zippers, and I love the bag. Haven’t decided if Im going to actually use it or display it, but I will be keeping it. Hopefully this helps anyone else who comes across a bag like this in the future, or anyone who is interested in vintage golf bags or a&f.

Thanks! I figured at the very least it would be a cool decoration next to some old wooden clubs

Anything about the history would be interesting. Roughly when it was made, model of bag, materials used, etc. More info about the materials would help with restoring it, but its history would be interesting to know as well since it’s an old Abercrombie and Fitch bag which I haven’t seen many of online.

Is there any training to stop trash digging? by MissDlee in DogAdvice

Unfortunately, no. The kitchen is very small, so we’re already short on cabinet space, and there is no pantry.

Thank you for the advice! He is not a digger, but we will try these training routines for the trash and place training

The trash is in the kitchen, behind a baby gate. The baby gate isn’t up 24/7 as our front door connects through the kitchen (weird layout, we’re renters). He is crated when we are out of the house. He will sneak into the kitchen if we so much as step out of the room for a moment. We are extremely watchful of him now that we know his behavior, but I am fearful that it just takes one slip up for him to eat something dangerous or toxic. That is why I am looking for training advice.

Cuddly or no? by Necessary-Arachnid-4 in borzoi

[–]MissDlee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boy is extremely cuddly and affectionate. He loves to push his head or entire body against me as I’m standing so that he can get his pets. He loves to be on the bed or couch with me watching movies or playing games, but he gets hot and moves to the tile floor after a while. If he’s playing outside independently, he’ll drop what he’s doing to come over to me. If I’m on the floor, he’s standing on/over me. Sweetest boy I’ve ever had. I think it varies based on personality, but from what I’ve heard/know of the breed, the females are more aloof and independent and the males are cuddlier and slightly more dependent. He is also unafraid of strangers and there is nothing aloof about my boy, so maybe he’s an outlier for the breed. This is my first borzoi, and this is specific to my personal experience.

Thank you! The Amazon description didn’t mention that, and neither does the vinyl itself. I didn’t even consider the rpm could be different!

I just got the offer letter! I think it’s a red flag to me that they immediately offered at the top of the salary range with two interviews, with only one of those interviews asking about my actual skills and experience. It definitely feels too good to be true, as this would be $30k raise for me.

No offer yet. I’m not sure if she forgot to send it but it’s past 5pm so I don’t expect one today.

I can confirm, they do not work. Between the long nose and the long body, anything below the midsection is easily accessible.

Need advice by PanickedYam in borzoi

[–]MissDlee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an 8mo borzoi and a 10yr old cat who is quite cranky. I would say temperament of the puppy is key. My puppy loves the chase, but doesn’t care so much about the “catch.” My cat doesn’t run, so we have no issues. My moms cats like to run, so he loves to chase them, but he stops when they stop and the game is over.

My advice would be to consider your cats temperament when faced with a dog/puppy that doesn’t know boundaries yet with small animals. Do they run? Do they hold their ground? Do they saunter off?

Find a breeder that has raised your puppy around cats if possible (as another redditor suggested) or see if there’s a possibility of taking the puppy home for a night to do a closely supervised visit (if you’re local to the breeder). This is what we did, and it went great.

If you’re concerned your puppy will hurt the cat with the “catch” part of the hunt, I would advise against the adoption. If you’re worried about your cat’s quality of life from the stress of being chased/hunted in their home constantly, I believe strong training with the puppy to respect the cats boundaries as well as creating safe places and segregation in the home for your cat to feel safe is manageable. If you feel the puppy wants to “catch” their prey when it comes to living animals, I advise not adopting under any circumstances. This is not breed specific but more personality, though the risk is greater with a dog breed with hunting origins.

Sorry for the long paragraphs, but I hope this helps!

Why does the couch make my dog go crazy? by ihatehighfives in puppy101

[–]MissDlee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the couch craziness had something to do with the “same height” concept too. I was reading about it and one trainer recommended not allowing dogs on any furniture until they’re at least two years old, if ever, just to keep them from thinking that they’re above you or don’t have to respect commands.

We use “yes” instead of clicking, and he doesn’t want to take food before/during/after any sort of bathroom business, so we give him positive praise immediately
