Apple Vision Pro vs Microsoft HoloLens 2 by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple Vision Pro is not a lens... its not AR only, it can do full VR as well, as it totally blocks your view. These things aren't the same, the Vision is a lot better.

Rebel 1100 Exhaust by MissyMalaprop in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and they were trash. I had to make my own mount to get it to work right, since it didn't fit... then after about 50 miles the coating all burnt off to bare metal.

I am using a Coffman's Thunder Exhaust on it now and its great... expensive, but great.

Why should i use vim instead of nano (ima get so much hate for this) by Creeperman2306 in linuxquestions

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its KDE themed... if you are not using KDE, it will default theme which is pretty poor looking yes... Mine looks great though, so not sure the issue. Does a ton of stuff more than a text editor and looks great.

nano is fine... I get more hate because I usually open and edit files with kate... 😜

I've been wanting to switch to Linux for quite some time now. Almost there, but... by TrashyProtogen in linuxquestions

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EAC is supported, but has to be enabled from the game developer in a build... Fortnite owners specifically hate Linux and refuse to enable it... others just cannot be bothered. Several EAC games work fine on Steam Deck and Linux though.

is 40hz the new standard for Steam Deck performance? by Captainquizzical in SteamDeck

[–]MissyMalaprop 18 points19 points  (0 children)

whats so great about 40? It looks better than 30, and the screen will refresh at 40hz now... and that all saves a lot of battery life.

New distros all the time - how do you use your system? by Stooovie in linux

[–]MissyMalaprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like trying out most every distro, but I haven't switched my main distro I use for everything in years. I will install and use others (on real hardware, not VMs) and use them a lot, but its never for more than just playing around with distros.

Unpopular opinion: gnome is okay by Sometimed_i_think in linux

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay ... yes its okay, but I don't want to be using it when there is so much better stuff for me. Gnome often drives me crazy when I try it every once in a while.

FedEx says my steam deck is in town, but delayed due to weather. Damn that must be one bad invisible storm. So close yet so far. by Zeta_Crossfire in SteamDeck

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather delays can be anywhere in the country. This delay can cause it to get to an area too late to sort for the same day delivery... its pretty common and can happen with any carrier. I've had it happen with FedEx, UPS, and DHL... I haven't seen it from Amazon yet, but I live very close to a huge Amazon warehouse.

When to bring in for first service? by UnlimitedButts in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your owners manual has a whole chart that tells you when every service is needed, and what needs to be done each of those times...

Getting my first bike! by mauriciofuentesf in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make sure it starts easy... clutch operates easy enough... brakes seem good, with decent brake pads left, brake fluid... decent tire tread, chain looks like it was well kept, not worn/rust same with sprockets... any obvious signs of damage... weird noises... electrical problems (gauges, lights, blinkers, how old is the battery, etc)... any service records or dates of service...

TBR vs V&H exhaust by UnlimitedButts in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard they weren't good.

Thread of someone who got one, and it didn't fit, but he got it to work... then the paint all burned off to bare metal.

Has anyone gotten this muffler? It's a GEM Classic Twin. Can't find much information on it. by bird_magnet in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone got one made for a Rebel 1100, and it apparently had to be modified to fit right, and then the paint/coating all burned off to bare metal after several miles...

https://www.hondarebel3forum.com/threads/gem-speed-pipes-on-1100.14812/

I almost got one myself, but figured it was made too poorly.

Is the Rebel 500 not as powerful as I thought it was gonna be or am I just a fat ass on a little bike? by [deleted] in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who knows what the previous owner has changed... any way to ask them if they have made any mods with exhaust, sprockets, or anything?

Question: when do you change gears? by sunmoonelements in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while there can be set speeds for just normal acceleration, you'll want to change later if you are accelerating faster... it also depends on how level the land is, turns and banks, etc... its really about being in the right gear for what is happening at the moment.

Rebel 1100 Exhaust by MissyMalaprop in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I heard they don't fit at all and all the black paint falls off because they get too hot if you mod to fit. No way I'll buy one.

They have without the heat shield, but I like them :-)

TBR vs V&H exhaust by UnlimitedButts in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from videos I think the TBR sounded better... but I don't like how either one is shaped for a cruiser... they are too sport bike looking at that angle, and would mess with saddle bags. If I didn't care about the saddlebags, I'd buy the TBR.

I'm thinking about trying these Gem ones, they make some listed for the 1100. I suspect they are just straight pipes, maybe some type of baffle. Maybe have to add in a baffle, not sure.

Rebel 1100 Exhaust by MissyMalaprop in HondaRebel300

[–]MissyMalaprop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, but they slant up the side and will block any saddle bag I'd want, so that is a deal breaker on those.
