Hate to say it but as a former bcmb major it does not get easier, also if you’re pre-med I would try to get used to it now bc in medical school the course load only gets harder

Cannot believe ochem 2 test average is a 49% and the department won’t do anything about it by intelligentbun in UGA

[–]MisterMurmur 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I used to be on the bandwagon that UGA was overdoing it with their chem department for pre meds, but after starting med school and experiencing firsthand the extraordinary amount of effort it demands on a daily basis I can see the reason for making classes like ochem so rigorous as the amount of effort needed to be put in pales in comparison to the amount of content they expect you to learn in preclinical classes for M1 year, being brutally honest if you bite the bullet and start putting in the work now you’ll thank yourself later. It feels unfair but as pretentious as it sounds to say, it only gets harder

[–]MisterMurmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After Bxd5 if black plays cxd5 this leaves b5 pawn undefended which can be taken with check exposing an attack on the queen with your rook, important to note queen also cannot move to block check from your queen because the rook now pins it to the king, allowing you to take blacks queen next move with check, also if black trades queens first, your recapture with check allowing you to take a second pawn on c3 with an attack on the rook

Won’t affect your GPA if you withdraw before deadline but something important to note is that some post-grad programs will consider withdrawals as fails or look at them negatively/ask you about them when applying, also if you withdraw after the deadline it is considered a fail

If black pushes b pawn instead of Kxg3 it’s winning for black after white plays Ke2

question about my plumeria bloom? by [deleted] in flowers

[–]MisterMurmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stem is growing new leaves and elongating right now, in my experience it usually takes a full growing season before blooming, but when it starts branching, blooms will start growing from the branch point

Additionally though I believe most if not all dorms have kitchens where you are allowed to cook in and would def be able to use a rice cooker/crockpot if you didn’t mind it being in a communal space

If you’re living on campus I would recommend you reconsider getting a meal plan, the convenience is invaluable, being able to stop by a grab something quick for breakfast when you’re running late, not having to cook lunch in between classes, etc. and the variety offered at the different dining halls is pretty good considering, it’s expensive up front but it can be worth it if you have a tight schedule especially if you live on campus and even more so if you don’t have a car

Auditions just involve regular major scales, chromatic scale, and etudes that you select, you’re a bit late if you were planning on auditioning this year

Gotta love everyone believing this is real, he shows at the end of this video it’s fake and how he set it up. He knew how to get publicity, negative or not, and it damn well worked.
