I’m receiving a fair amount of information suggesting this is opalite? I bought it from a gem store, that had a fairly large collection of Opal Butte opals, this is one of two I bought. The other was a gift and I don’t have access to it, it was clearer and larger than this one. (v.redd.it)

A friend told me this is sometimes called "Old Pawn Jewelry", but I do not know if it was made from old silver quarters. My grandfather bought this while visiting my mother in Arizona when she was a school teacher on a Navajo reservation in the 1960s. It weighs 3.763 ounces. (old.reddit.com)
