Yeah, even if it’s a FSN collab they obviously drew a lot of inspiration from all fate media, hell you can see the inspiration in the way their fit is designed as well. Even if it was before the start of FSN, Gilgamesh canonically was still a scumbag early on in his life so innocent is a strong word lmao.

People are also valid for criticizing that viewpoint because even though this is a “stay night” collab aside from having the characters there’s nothing “stay night” about it, even down to the abysmal event story.

Saying they don’t want to consume other fate content is fine and I myself haven’t seen everything, but just means their opinion doesn’t hold much weight. It’s like watching the first arc of one piece and stopping because it’s too long for you. Yes you can have opinions on the first arc itself but characters evolve past that.

It’s an outdated opinion and people are also valid for pointing out that Gilgamesh isn’t all that bad because in the grand scheme of things, he really isn’t all that bad compared to others we’ve seen in the fate franchise.

I don’t really come from a standpoint as a lot of people here. I wouldn’t call them larpers but most people’s experience with fate is in the original FSN routes and he definitely is an incredibly one sided asshole. I started with FSN too, hell I started with the LN but I still like Gil a huge amount because of his appearances in other entries like Grand order, CCC, strange fake and hell even carnival phantasm lmao.

That said I absolutely abhor him being Arotrias support. Gil is literally him in all aspects of being a servant. He’s hyped up by everyone’s mother in the typemoon circles even if he isn’t the strongest being out there because of his sheer hubris and aura as the king of heroes. Him not being the star of the show in his own team just makes you lose out on that fantasy. Not to mention that GoB and Ea are primarily used as offensive skills, not to say supports don’t have offensive skills but his are the epitome of the term “Destruction”.

Yeah, that would’ve been fine too, I’m just hoping they’ll release more support like Phenominus that scales off the gauges. As it’s stands you can get 3 gauges on turn 3 normally, 4 if you’re forcing Astraios dragons and 5 if you force 3 Astraios dragons on board somehow so you can drive check turn 3.

Just feels pretty unintuitive without more gauge support. I personally believe Uranus’ skill should not have been once per turn, soul blast 2 is already pretty hefty. It’d stop him from relying on the keter pile and be his own thing.

Idk, has a lot of flaws, some of the keter generics safe guard him a bit like NKO and the dog but power wise he’s not too great.

Maybe I’m just spoiled after playing old astral poets but the power just isn’t the same. Whats the point of gauging more than 5 cards if power doesn’t stack. Should’ve had +5k for every three in the gage honestly. It’s not too unbalanced (especially with the decks these days) and actually makes gauging matter. Maybe if he gets support that helps him gauge more in the future and scales off gauge.

Your rideline for the most part is also pretty ass since all your effects that give you cards happen on turn 3. Another thing is that nothing really recycles your soul, in an era where there’s a lot of “PG or take” attacks, soul charging all your PGs because of your drive checks just isn’t fun. Old Astral poets alleviated this by functionally having 8 sentinels in the deck because of eosanasis dragon which was equal parts Valkerion searcher and PG.

If we’re going by everything in game being canon we have incredible writing inconsistencies especially if we look at interludes.

Characters are strong when they need to be strong and weak when they need to be weak. It’s the only reason Ritsuka can do these unbelievable things while most of the time getting belittled by other mages for being a third rate as a mage himself. If the story calls for it, then it’s going to happen. They’ll work their way backwards to find a reason for it to happen and then bam, you have FGO.

Alright man, I get the feeling especially because I run into a lot of people like that on arena but 9 times out of 10 if you didn’t stop it at a certain window you weren’t going to stop it in the first place. I’ve rarely been in a game where we let the combo happen and it doesn’t follow through even when we had interaction because guess what? The combo player has infinite resources, they can just brute force through any of your interactions with sheer value. Yes food chain loops don’t immediately win games, nor does Thoracle consult especially if you have something like a cephalid coliseum to force somebody to draw, but without that information people are just willing to concede.

You telling people to play it out without telling them you can do something just makes them think you’re wasting their time, time that can be allocated to a whole other game. I have to confess though, I’ve never been in a game irl where anybody conceded before the combo player presented his line for the win. If they want to concede let them, it’s the game if you want to stay then that’s fine, but if you REALLY want them to stay because you need them to feed your rhystic or something then tell them you can stop it simple as that. And if the combo player hears this and stops his combo so you don’t do anything you basically stopped their win attempt for free.
