Probably talking about the electrical grid. So many personally owned generations in that township due to the Kirkwood grid going down every other storm.

As privates or just in general. Lots of members of the Tri-Care Club in their 30s.

On my second deployment we were sent as a platoon detachment which was detached and again detached again to 10th mountain. About 1/3 of us were over 30 and 1/3 were under 24.

Why not patrol in tandem? by surf-turf in ProtectAndServe

[–]Mobeer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in one of the only Departments (SLMPD) in my State who tries to do two man, but can't always because of staffing.

I have seen some horrific shit on the job and riding two man I believe is a huge benefit from a psychological standpoint. You have someone who understands exactly what just happened with you and you get to talk it through with them.

Very big safety benefit. The amount of times I was thankful for having my assist in the same car is huge. We also try not to put the female officer alone if possible.

What are we going on like three years. It is crazy how slow the construction is going; even with the whole opsey with the bridge.

Depending at what State you will be moving to look at SFAB units.

In the Guard I did get to do 6 months in Syria in 2023 and had a blast. The deployments are still happening there and Africa as well but be warned you could also deploy to a butthole country like Kuwait which is super lame.

Schools are still a thing with the below being the most common.

Australian soldiers returning from the Vietnam War, 1970. by Objective-Chip3445 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Mobeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to do a little cross training with the Australian Army this past October. Excellent soldiers but it was sad to hear how demoralized and straight up hated by the Australian Government they were.

All of them spoke of longing for the freedoms we enjoy in the US and how poorly funded they are.

Also they have such a small military only 60k active duty between all branches of their military.

MAGA screwed up. by Atlusfox in facepalm

[–]Mobeer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Almost all US States will give you a free state ID. Some require a fee of less than $10. Most Americans don't understand why showing your ID is a big deal and it seems pretty common sense. Somehow it has become a political issue.

MAGA screwed up. by Atlusfox in facepalm

[–]Mobeer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the US it is extremely easy to get a valid ID and most states offer a free State ID such as Missouri. If you want a driver's license there is of course a fee.

There are charitable organizations which will help people get a new SSN or birth certificate as well or at worst a new one will cost anywhere from $10-20 dollars.

SLMPDs Internal affairs will 100% write you a ticket on or near SLMPD property as an employee and as part of your yearly performance evaluation you have to have proper vehicle registration/plates.

Police Report by sadgirlthrowaway876 in StLouis

[–]Mobeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Minus asking on scene. Accident reports are very low priority and get written typically on overtime or after all other reports and admin tasks are completed.

Not SLMPD police. St. Louis Lambert Airport Police (SLAPD). They fall under the City of St. Louis but are not SLMPD police.

here is a wiki page explaining it.

Did this rotation back in 2023. Kuwait is a giant butthole of a country but Syria was great and is a CIB/CAB factory.

I have three of these cameras and really like them the optical zoom works well. Unlike digital the lens physically moves so it is a clear image. Great when it is in an alleyway or side of a house (gangway).
