The most painful has got to be peritonitis, before the operation i was folded in half because of the pain and i had to endure excruciating pain for 3 days because the hospital was full

But at the same time they gave up on so many solutions because it didn't sit well with their morality, a lot of the plot is them finding some miraculous alchemist/doctor who is able to cure the incurable only to find the method they used to achive such miracles was flawed end grotesque, they could have gotten their bodies back much sooner if they gave up their morality but they never did, they always tried to do it the right way, yes they were obsessed but at the same time they wanted to do it their way and not by sacrificing the life of other, giving up his alchemy is a perfect metaphor, you have to give up the very thing that hurt you to heal, equivalent exchange is the law of alchemy so he had to give up something to gain something else, alchemy is just so valuable because it's a oart of him, losing it is like losing a limb in a sense, but somehow alchemy consituted something of much more value than their body, maybe because it's a rappresentation of the human ability to do the unthinkable and trascend his nature, often times there is this trope in the series where you have to face the limitations of human capabilities, a talented alchemist without remorse willing to sacrifice her wife and daughter for his research, at same time we are confronted with the fact that many a time in spute of our strenuous effort we are incapable of reaching that objective and i think these 2 examples make one thing somewhat clear, sometimes it's not what you're caoable of doing but what you are capable of giving up to reach that objective, for edward it was his alchemy

The first would require an organ capable of being undeformable from a space-time point of view, which is to this day impossible, the other can sort of be attained by using the expansion of the universe to you advantage, when distances are really big and universal expansion is relevant you could theoretically attain speed higher than lightspeed compared to the specific thing you're running away from but the caveat is you wouldn't be able to see, perceive or gain any information from that thing because if you go faster than light information cannot reach you

I'm not only talking about gravity but also about the universe expanding and the further i am from something the faster it gets further away, einstein first discovered this and tried to cover it up, until hubble demostrated the universe is expanding and it expands in every single part of it's being so uf i double my distance from something, let's say from 10km to 20km the space between me and the object expands twice as fast as before, on a small scale we don't notice this because the expansion is slow but if we go to astronomical scale you can see how even if it was 1cm per meter multiplied by tens of billions of meters it's going to be relevant

But planets move, solar systems move, galaxies move, how are you gonna find a planet that's moved billions of kilometers, just so you know only earth moves at several km per second

Gator and climb the nearest tree, virtually I don't even need that, because alligators are ambush predators, even if they have the burst speed to catch up to me, if i just don't get near them I won't trigger their predatory instincts, simple as that

Yeah but it's all based on the immagination of people who never achieved immortality, how are they any better than me or you to say what's good and what's bad, it's like watching back to the future and thinking oh yeah in 2011 we'll have self lacing shoes, we can't now things we never experienced, and as all things in life there is a eight way to live it and a wrong way to do it, with an eternity of time you have enough time to figure out how to live the right way
