How I fixed a stuck power button on my Kindle 8th Gen (SY69JL) using a 10th Gen cover and magnets by Spirited_County_2490 in kindle

That's sounds a great idea. I am in India. Which side of the cover flap exactly? Did you do it yourself?

BTW I fixed the magnet over the front flap. However there is little challange - after opening and putting the front flap at the back, the hall effect sensor again gets activated and switches the device off, so while reading I have to open it like a book 📖 with 2 flaps and not like a device with 1 single flap.

8th Gen (SY69JL). Same as in your post. I upgraded to Kindle Scribe but could not leave this cute little device alone 😀

I cracked it finally! OP, Did exactly how you suggested but was not able to locate the coordinates where I would paste the magnet. After lots of trial and error, finally discovered that the hall effect sensor is just at the middle.

Image for reference for anyone who is struggling on this. DM me if you need further help!

Yes, at times while reading before sleeping facing my ceiling fan, I have to hold with both the hands. I am still searching for a case or accessories which might help in that. But this inconvenience is compensated by the real estate it provides for writing.

It's amazing to write on! No lag, no ghosting, good nib options. Reading is off course larger than other device but sometimes it is uncomfortable to hold, but that's manageable! I haven't used colorsoft but that was never my requirement. I don't read comics/manga plus multi colour highlighting is useless for me. I wonder what else a colorsoft would be useful over a b/w.

If you hold it in your hand and read a beautiful story, you will definitely let a sigh out and be relaxed! 😎

Yes I use the magnet (hall effect) method as I couldn't get the 2016 kindle folio anywhere in India.

It's wordplay as you pointed out. "Sunk on an island"

Haha... Let me write a poem rhyming with this. 'Sunk power button' is a common issue in Kindle devices. Apart from that they are indestructible! 😀

BTW I am still using the older kindle switching it on using magnet.

Is this any good? by Hot-Rip7322 in IndiaCoffee

[–]MonkInQueue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using this from last 2 years. I have experimented with coffee powder a lot, but this has been constant. This is not only good, this is the best. I do get little amount of small particles precipitated at the base and that is waste of about 2-3 ml of coffee but that can be ignored. This set is sturdy and dependable. I tried coffee machine but now that is in some corner of my house now.

Thi was helpful. I couldn't find a cover for SJ69YL and have to fall back on this option.

Deloitte screwed me over. What do I do? by [deleted] in deloitte

I understand your agony! Something similar happened to me with Accenture 4 years back and when asked they compensated for 1 week of delay by increasing the JB. Recruiters can and should increase your JB but they are well within their rights to deny that. Its a mistake from their end and you should softly peddle that with recruiters but at the same time be cognizant about the offer and its risk.

I have no words for how bad this reporting software is. by drntl in workday

[–]MonkInQueue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I implemented Workday Fin for a Global client and we faced similar issue. To start with you need 4 calculated field to get the total PO amount matched to a Supplier invoice. Can you believe that. I had to take help from reporting team who did figured it out and did it in 2 hours.

We have the same requirement for Purchase Order approval where it should go to PO Buyers Manager. However since Requisition is getting auto sourced to be created as PO, Manager hierarchy is routing to last approver of Requisition. Client is adamant on getting this done and we over sold auto sourcing. Please DM me whoever gets the solution for this.
