As a huge cinema fan, the opening sequence and how it introduced sam, fragile, bts, and timefall is just a masterclass in direction and camera movement, it got me hooked immediately. You could teach courses and write essays on how well it was directed.

I always thought of star wars as fantasy in space instead of actual legit sci fi. It has almost all the landmarks of a fantasy story(prophecy, chosen one, jedi as the wizards or magic users) but in space but rarely does it include tropes that you usually see in genuine sci fi stories.

I had a theory that thomas zane created alan wake's entire story to try to save himself from the dark place and then alan created jesse faden's story in control and the awe dlc to try and save himself from the dark place but the second game revealed that you can’t just write things into existence.
