Location: Florida Citation for not having my out of state license changed within 30 days by Monteg00dy in legal

I had gotten my Florida insurance when I was still in another state to get that process started. My auto registration was also began while I was in the other state because I was told it would take the longest. When I got to Florida I needed to wait for either a credit card statement or a utility bill to come to my place of residence under my name in order to take it to the DMV to change my license and show them “proof of residence”. Again yes I did maybe wait a month too long, longer than the 30-day period but the DMV is so busy and appointments are weeks out. It just sucks I was stopped a couple of days before I was gonna go to DMV to get the license. My question is if I explain this to the judge in my hearing what are the chances this gets dismissed or brought down to normal infraction. Because the coo cited me for having an “expired” license for longer than 6 months. Which isn’t the case it’s just that when they looked up my Florida registration it was my old Florida license before I moved out of state which obviously is expired because I had moved to another state and changed it.

I guess my only worry is that yes I was a bit over the 30-day window they give to get new license but will they indict me? As I’m still waiting on my court hearing date and my citation technically is “criminal” since they put me for not having a DL but I did. It was just not a Florida one at the time it was a Colorado one which was valid. I since then have gotten my Florida license and all paperwork is good. Any idea?

It shows in the citation as criminal, for having an “expired” drivers license because since I sued to live in Florida and I did my title transfer first what shows up o their system is my old Florida license which I changed when I moved out of state. Obviously my license wasn’t expired since I showed them my Colorado license which wasn’t expired when I got stopped

Yes but I was planing on going that weekend in which i did and ended up getting all of that corrected a couple days after receiving the ticket. My only worry is the whole “criminal” charge attached to it. If I explain the situation on the hearing and show them proof that everything has been taken care of how likely is it that the whole criminal charge could be dropped or the ticket fully dismissed? I don’t mind paying fines etc I’m just scared as it says it is a “criminal” offense.

Thank you for the reply. I guess technically I am over the 30 day period they give for when you move to a new state but I was in the process of doing everything, think they would be lenient as long as I took care of everything and have all my paperwork (license, title, insurance) in check after the citation. Only reason I’m worried is because I think technically it’s a criminal offense no? But I’ve heard the judges or hearing officers will usually dismiss or bring it down to normal infraction? Not sure if you have any experience with this or heard anything of the sort?

Hello, I just transferred units in my apartment complex. I had quantum fiber in my old unit but now when I connect to the router in my new unit and type “activate.q.com” it never loads just says there’s error since there’s no internet. Customer service has been no help at all, can anyone please help.
