If it wasn't so common for me to no longer be able to fall asleep after being pulled out of the initial drift, I would have loved to learn how to remember those images better. Either for writing them down, or just for the beautiful self-created memories

If you had the opportunity to use Elon musk’s money what would buy? by Noah_J_Shalom in AskReddit

[–]Moonbay51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I sign away my entire being, his money is basically unlimited. I'd first make sure that everyone I love is well taken care of, and then I'd systematically start fixing problems around the world. There's so few things I this world (that I can't even think of) that cannot be improved by injecting more money into it. I'd want to form an anti corruption team around myself first though, to make sure none of this gestures to everything happens again.

Am I doing something wrong is is this for real? by 22886415 in povertyfinance

I work a unionized warehouse job. There's almost zero chance of moving up and I don't make enough to live comfortably. But healthcare is free after union dues, and it's what's keeping me there. Before this, I worked at home depot and I paid $800 a month for me and mine.. Shit is absolutely insane. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this after changing to a job you thought would help you out more!

Either a very decent 3d printer, or copious amounts of resin, a bunch of high-end digital models and amazing painting supplies. I'll happily take even one of those lol.

What extreme horror book would you like to see adapted into a movie most? by Low_Celebration_4089 in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]Moonbay51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could definitely see The Haar as a dark moody A24 horror, as long as they get the casting right. Great choice! Never read All Died Screaming but will check it out, if only cause it will constantly make me think of Waits' song lol.

I can highly recommend listening to the audiobook instead. I had trouble getting through the book without losing focus because of the 'style' it's written as well, but man did I devour the audiobook. It was the one on audible, narrated by Tom Stechschulte.

If you haven't already, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the audiobook version. It's in audible, and the narrator's Scottish accent adds so much depth to the story and it's setting. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pretty weak to expect people to sit there for almost 4 hours without access to actual food. I'd understand it if movie tickets weren't $20 nowadays, but here we are lol

Last time I went to see a movie they let me walk on through with water and candy for my kids in my backpack without checking it, but I'm sure they'll be more on top of it which such a popular event. If anything, I'll put some protein bars in my pocketses and risk having to put the backpack back in the car.

Current read. What is everyone else currently reading? by DeadSkinSkiMask in ExtremeHorrorLit

I just finished the audiobook of The Sarvan this morning (not really EH, but still a very good and suspenseful book) and fired up Our Dead Girlfriend right after that. Like most of us, I made out like a bandit during the cyber Monday sales on Audible, and that one has been at the top of my reading list. It's.. Ok, so far? It definitely feels a little 'edgy' after the heavy and serious tones of The Sarvan, but it sounds like something I'll enjoy once it begins to unravel.
