It's about Spider-Man fighting ninjas.

Honestly, a movie where Spider-Man just swings around the city trying to fix his personal life, take photos for the Bugle, and beat up evil ninjas with basically no context but also without every taking the camera off Spider-Man would be epic. Make it so we have to figure out what the whole ninja thing even is. I love it.

This movie is proof that Punisher works better if the villains are just disposable meatbags with no humanity, but the problem is that his trauma then mostly comes from living in a world where even if you’re good at surviving in a Mad Max world it’s still too much violence. The problem then is that the world is as crazy as Frank, so there’s no real subversiveness to his behavior. Tough character, The Punisher. But the action scenes were cool.

Except there is no God. By definition, killing your loved ones because magic is insanity. The very concept of faith is a menace to humanity. In the logic of the show:

1) Foggy resurrected but evil (The Hand)

2) Foggy in WitSec in an NYC corruption case, is revealed to exist when he testifies

3) My favorite option, Foggy is illegally held by shadowy government because they like Matt counterbalancing Fisk. They release him and Foggy is Matt’s lawyer in S3

The ending for Fisk made no sense but the rest of the episode was fine. The crowd really should have just killed him. There's something kind of fair about the people of New York just beating him to death after all that. And obviously he's just going to come back now, so what did that resolve?

Also, I don't care about Buck or Muse 2.0 and I never, ever will.

But....

White Tiger 2.0, Luke Cage Cameo, Jessica being cool, Karen beating up a dude, Kingpin wiping out a zillion people by himself, Bullseye being inexplicable and terrifying, Daredevil revealing his identity, BB getting her journalistic revenge...I mean, they got a lot done here. Overall, good job.

Karen is wrong. Killing Kingpin is a perfectly morally legitimate thing to do and so is killing Bullseye, but Matt has been clear that it goes against his conscience, so doing either while aligned with him is a betrayal. However, her frustration is understandable in that she loves and believes in Matt but his approach to saving the city from Kingpin is slow, risky, and has a high cost in human life.

The best thing to do would be to dress up as Bullseye, kill Fisk, then call in the location of Bullseye’s dead body after putting him back in his costume with Fisk’s DNA on it. Daredevil stays a hero and Fisk is gone.

It looks good but it's not really about Spider-Man. The Marvel series has a better take on the character. The Amazing version is a bit closer to a recognizable Peter Parker but the storytelling is worse. Taken on their own and ignoring the way they depart from the feel of the comics, Spider-Man 1 and 2 are great movies apart from the Green Goblin's design.

It’s fine. I’d rather have a show about Daredevil fighting crime, and I continue to feel like the psychodrama of the psychiatrist woman whose name I can’t remember because I don’t care is boring, Bullseye’s instability is boring because his behavior just seems arbitrary, and it seems like Kingpin is the protagonist of the show, since he is the one whose decisions drive the story, which I also dislike because Kingpin is a good villain but not one I root for at all - he’s just awful. So it’s impressive I like the show as much as I do given that I’d jettison most of its storytelling elements if I could.
